I can't stand Kobe's guts, but he'll make the hall. He's one of the top SG of all-time, just not on Michael's level. Michael is GOAT. Nobody will ever reach his level. I have to brace myself for all of the LeBron hype that's about to come. It's already nauseating and unbearable. I can only imagine what it will be like if he actually wins a championship. :smt078
You gotta remember B, it's a new generation of players. Bigger, stronger, faster, more challenging. The current generation will surpass the previous one(been watching too much Naruto, but it still speaks the truth on this). And Kobe did won a ring at a younger age than Mike.:smt109
Honestly Ajax, i don't like Kobe, but i do respect his game. He's an all-time great. But, in order for Kobe to surpass what Jordan did, he would have to win 4 more MVPs, about 10 more scoring titles, 4 more championships, and win a couple defensive player of the year awards. Considering his age, and inevitable decline in production, i don't see it happening. Kobe has already played 13 seasons in the NBA. Michael Jordan retired after 15. So i would say, Kobe probably has 2 more years of good ball left in him before his body starts to break down. The Lakers have to make sure they seize the opportunity while Kobe is still relatively productive.
LeBron ain't winnin a title at least not this year for my money, OScar Robertson and Wilt GOAT!!! they CHANGED THE RULES FOR WILT food for thought homie
There's a guy who's done some homework. Now who can tell me who wore #6 for the Celtics back in the day who could be considered a GOAT. However MJ did the damn thing
#6 was Bill Russell--challenge me MJ was awesome, but my logic is this: Oscar Robertson AVERAGED a triple double for MULTIPLE seasons.... remember, fewer teams in the league back then.
I had forgotten about this thread...Kobe will make the HOF....I was just playin'. Funny thing is, if you check ESPN, they can't mention Kobe's nbame without mentioning Jordan's. Itz like Kobe will always be in MJ's shadow....
Magic Johnson: 1979 NCAA champion, 1980 NBA champion. Magic (the real MJ) started at center in the deciding game of the 1980 NBA Finals against the Sixers and played all five positions on the floor, something no other player in the history of game has been able to do. His line: 42 points, 15 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals and 1 block. The amount of time between leading the Spartans to the NCAA championship and leading the Lakers to the NBA championship. = 8 months. Enough said. Jordan is somewhere behind Magic and Kareem Abdul Jabbar in terms of the greatest players ever.
If MJ didn't retire the first time, the man probably would have 7 or 8 rings. I do think Magic Johnson is the second best player ever though.
:smt045 What will boggle your mind even further is the fact that as soon as he came back, he won 3 straight championships. What that tells you is, if the man didn't retire the first time, he would have not only won 7 or 8 championships, but he would have won 7 or 8 "straight" championships. That's insane when you really think about it. 8)
I'm starting to lose hope in Kobe retaining his MVP title. Not because he hasnt worked hard towards it, but because the media badly want Bron Bron to win it. Don't get me wrong, Lebron has worked his tail out ever since he's come to the L in 2003, but in my opinion, he isnt as complete a player as Kobe is. With 7 seconds left on the clock, i'd rather give KB24 the ball, but thats just me.
+1. They want some 'new blood' as MVP. I still consider Kobe MVP but, oh well. Maybe my opinion is biased.
Daniel Stern is trying his best to force Bron down everybody's throat.....the finals between the Cavs and the Spurrs a couple of years ago was one of the lowest rated ever. Bron doesn't do nothing for me....he's carrying his squad but he isn't a superstar like Jordan. the average joe who didn't watch B-ball knew who Jordan was..and would watch a game if MJ was playing. I don't think Bron gets that type of reception.
