Here's more proof of what I'm talkin' about. Ciara & Timberfake pairing is OK...but, when will we see Chris Brown and Miley Cyrus paired in a musicvideo??? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTYT-SiZeFo The Kid Rasta
Oh.. see this link for more info.. http://www.whitewomenblackmen.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10123&page=6 Remember when he said.. ?
Well... I like the song, for what it's worth. Oh, and they may not be Chris Brown and Miley Cyrus but Lily Allen has a song with Common and one with Dizzee Rascal and I'm pretty sure Joss Stone has a song with Common too. Oh, Pharrell has a song with Gwen Stefani and she has one with Akon. There are a few Oh yeah, and Christina and Redman in Dirty.
In virtually all the examples you mention the black dude and the white lady are not getting all hot and heavy. There have been examples of such videoes perhaps iback in the day but you don't really see such things now. I mean as close as I can recall was ten seconds of Brittney on the back of Tyson Beckford's motorcycle in one video and nothing happened on the screen with them anyway. Heck Common wasn't even the object of love for Joss in her video(the two black arms did not belong to him) and Pharrell only wrote Stefani's song. As for Redman wasn't he only sen with Christina for about fifteen seconds? I don't even think he was doing any dirty dancing with her in the video. With that being said I think the use of the machine gun icon is a little extreme for these posts, fellas. Lets not lose our heads. Also let me add I would rather see more videoes of Justin and black chicks than to see Chris Brown with freakin' Miley Cirus. And isn't it sad that the one black male singer that came to the original poster's mind is a dude with a temper problem and a career that may be cut short? Where are the black male singers again?
Co-sign on the first paragraph. I'm only trying to make a point. I used the first young singers that came to my mind for my IR example. The Kid Rasta
I hate Timberfake. Funny how Obama is "overexposed" and he's the President yet this motherfucker's everywhere.
Yeah like Jamalspunky said they are not the very sexual like JT & Ciara was in those videos. I think Joss Stone is the only mainstream singer that displays it sexually, but it was to a certain point not like anything like what we see in the ciara video. The only video where there is interracial sexual chemistry that I know of is between snoop and britney spears but that video for some reason(I think we all know why.) It never hit the air. And this is one of the things that makes me dissapointed with some R&B stars because they obviously has given into mainstream media's racist rule of them saying what is accepted and what is not. White guys(well the whiteguys that head the mainstream media) like producers, studio heads, Chief magazine editors, etc. Runs mainstream and now they get what they want, white man's world, white man's rules. They are catching jungle fever for some chocolate now so if black females now days want to be mainstream and make it big and the whiteguys got their eyes on them, they will have to be do something sexual with a white guy on screen to satisfy them and put white guys ahead of the brothas. I will use porn as an example(I know "why porn?") But I use porn as an example because in porn they are so out there with their racism. In porn their are NO mainstream female pornstars of all races that have never been with a white guy onscreen, all the females that are mainstream have been with a whiteguy, but there are some that has never been with a black guy onscreen. Now If you look at all the actresses in hollywood their is Not A One in mainstream that has never had a white guy as a love interest, the only one that was getting up their in mainstream was jennifer hudson, but she is beng consider over rihanna for that remake of "The bodyguard". But there are actresses obviously that has never had a black onscreen love interest. It is very similar to how porn does racism, the only difference is they are moving more cautiously with their racism not being exposed, where porn just don't care. Now you seeing it in music and justin timberlake is being the go to guy, because he was also the love interest for rihanna. You will never see fergie, britney, and christina with the male R&B singers all sexual. And with britney it was literally because we never saw that video she did where she made out with snoop. I know this is alot but it is all very true, but on the flipside is that it is only some r&b and soul stars, because john legend, joss stone, Usher and cant' remember names right now but I think one more all did ww, bm interracial intimately rather in movies like usher did or in a video. Joss Stone works with and dates alot of brothas, but her appeal with them onscreen in a video is rare, and obviously that is not due to joss, it is due to studio heads that run the production and distribution of the videos and they probably know how joss stone roll privately and that she mainly works and collaborates with a lot of black men and women, she might want to put out more IR videos. But that is one thing that I love about hip hop, you are going to get women of all races that hip hop stars are going to have all on them. Hip Hop stars rarely do intimate scenes in their videos, but my point is that hip hop is kind of in the who the hell cares department when it comes to interracial. That is probably why you don't see some of those white video models make it into mainstream, because they mostly date brothas. Because if you have seen some of the white video models I have posted on here they are beautiful and one thing hollywood loves is gorgeous white women, just not on a brotha.
she's a kid isn't Miley Cyrus a child? How old is she these days? my lil sister used to watch her on disney a few years ago. i think it had more to do with her age than the race. No one cares about BM/WW musical pairings. Look at Rapheal Saadiq & Joss Stone. They made beautiful music together and plus they were buck naked on the album cover. The Ciara/JT is hot, I like the video and nobody cares. Look at all of the non black women in black videos. no one cares anymore, th MB/WW is widely accepted these days. nobody cares.
is there a wardrobe malfunction from ciara then an immediate nonstop stream of apologies from Timberlake?
I'm afraid I'm going to have to disagree completely on that one. Simple reason is why should race matter at all? You would see more black males and black females in country for instance. More whites would do hip hop. Hell, even asians and latinos would branch out into various genres. No, the pairings are quite crucial for not just the brand of music, but for the influence that they would have the prospective audience. And look, let's not forget what country we all live in and it's racial history. It's still a big deal for a black male to be seen ANYWHERE with a white female, doesn't matter where she's from. Now I'll agree that things are changing, but let's understand that those non-black girls in black-themed videos generally are not the object of the black man's affection. And even if they are, they are ethnic themselves (puerto rican, cuban, mixed, etc...) and the attention shown towards one another is not as overt. Nobody cares??? NO, 'cause I once thought that a few years back but people just have a better way of expressing their disapproval than openly showing it. In television, the viewer simply changes the channel thus affecting overall viewership. But the ultimate blame goes to these entertainment companies for the making the decision to do the pairings in the first place. Clearing their numbers are showing that putting a white male with a black female garners less hate mail and more approval than the other way around. Perfect example is Miley Cirus you mentioned. Her and a brotha? OK when she's older, but would they put them together? No, won't happen. I just can't see after the evidence put out so far in these videos. Sorry.
This is the first I'm hearing about the Britney/Snoop vid, but no, it's not surprising at all. In fact, it's just further confirmation of you're double-standard argument which I agree with completely. But I do think that R&B stars (presumably black males) would be privately discouraged from working opposite white females because the industry execs would insist against it. They would argue it would be misinterpreted by his audience and of course would cause an outcry amongst his black female base. Exactly right about white men. With porn, I've said for a while now that there is an enormous double standard. First of all, IR is a genre which means any non-black individual working with a black person, although it mainly applies to non-black females working with black men. Then, all non-black females, unless they work strictly lesbian porn, MUST work with a white guy. This goes for latin females, asian girls, middle eastern, indian, etc. They don't have a choice unless they do solo work or work with a boyfriend or husband. But alot of these same females won't work with black males for stupid reasons. They are called "Dodgers" now. They claim to not be racist, but come up with some stupid reason why they won't work with a brotha, but with any other kind of man. But that's how that business is. Now as for Hollywood, if you were referring to black females all having white male love interests at some point in their careers, I don't have the numbers on that. But I know alot of them have. Angela Bassett, Lela Rochon, Robin Givens (I believe), of course Halle Berry, etc... But I think that has alot to do with black females being a minority in Hollywood. Let's face it, there are just so many black-themed love stories or movies in general that pair black couples together that people wish to watch. So at some point, most all of the black females will eventually have to work with white men (hell some even with white females). But that's acting. No, the problem is when it's not the other way around and we presume it as something other than what it was historically. There are a ton, A TON, of white females in Hollywood working. You gonna tell me they can't get a few of them to work with brothas on some projects? Just look at the history of Hollywood movies involving black men since the '50s and '60s. They've always found a way to work around black men and white women in any of the movies they've done. Watering down any presumed relationship, reducing the number of scenes the two are in, no overt flirting or evidence of suggestive talk, things like that. Because they knew and still know that white men and the white audience in general would feel it's influential. But a black woman with a white guy? Please. I've run across many white guys in my life who have openly stated that they have NO interest in sistahs. So that relationship is not a threat to anyone. Can't say anthing more than that.:smt023
You guys need to watch more music videos if you don't see any with a white woman being the love interest. These are just from the top of my head Lil Wayne - Mrs Officer Chris Brown - Forever Ray J/Yung Berg - Sexy Can I Jerimah - Birthday Sex There are some white girls in Every Girl by Weezy and Young Money too. Oh and of course in this video. :drinkers:
Now this is starting to get tiring. We don't need to complain every time we see WM and BW getting hot and busy in tv or in the movies. I mean, I know it is frustrating with the relative lack of BM and WW getting hot and busy. But complaining about BW and WM is not the way to go, and I think that it is only hurting, rather than helping us. I am of the opinion that people in BW/WM relationships should be our allies, not our enemies. We should not try to justify increasing BM/WW love on screen by comparing it to BW/WM relationships. It looks bad on us, and it looks divisive. Instead, promote BM/WW relationships for its own sake. That will be a lot more helpful. I support BM/WW relationships, but I also support BW/WM relationships. The fact of the matter is that Hollywood's problems go far beyond not showing BM/WW relationships in ways that will satisfy us. Other groups have major problems too that they are trying to address (and beating their heads against a wall trying to change). When you have a television station solely devoted to attacking Obama, that's a problem. When science fiction shows/movies are almost all white (such as the upcoming Virtuality, which has just one light skinned black woman), then there is a problem. When Asian Men cannot get laid on tv/film, that is a problem. When popular music becomes dumber and dumber (even while people are not buying music like they used to), then there is a problem. When the music industry is in a state of collapse, then there is a problem. When the mainstream media creators/producers/executives and the people who consume media are more at odds with each other than at any other point in history, then there is a problem. When the old business model becomes totally fucked in the postindustrial digital era, then there is a problem. When even the artists and the executives are at odds with each other, then there is a problem I see all of these problems as connected. The fact is that the whole media industry is fucked, probably fucked beyond the possibility of repair. Those people you are complaining against, those producers and executives of music, tv shows, and movies, their industries are in a state of collapse. They won't last long in the new economic, political, and technological climate. We we should be doing is starting something new. And here is an example of what I am talking about. There is a new black media company called the NPBM. If you watch the introductory videos, you will notice a BM saying that we wants to see more interracial relationships on screen, so they might deliver on that. Their mission is to represent minorities in ways that respect them, that show them in a positive light. They are aiming to become the anti-BET. So if you want change, then I think that these are the kinds of people to support.
Gat damn liquid swords, I be on worldstarhiphop.com alot I can't believe I missed that video. Thanks, Luv ya for that.
I forgot about adding Chris brown and Ray J to that list. But in Mrs Officer and Birthday sex those are latinas.
Great points, and attention to the positive is the best way to get rid of the negative, but as I said before on here so is Speaking up about all of hollywood's racism. Because the worst thing about being a racist now days is having people know about it.
