Nah, that doesn't really annoy me. What really annoys me are people who don't seem to know how to use spaces and then try to talk about being annoyed by things that are not proper.

as for speaking properly, yes it does annoy when people can't speak properly. I think it's more noticable with American English rather than British English because every single region here has it's own accent and one region can very easily accuse the other of bastardising a language.
The Southerners think we can't speak properly, we think that the midlands lot can't speak properly, everyone thinks that Scousers can't speak properly etc. etc.
Of course we do still get people that just can't speak properly. That's very annoying.

but i used to go on one forum where they like to correct every last spelling mistake and grammer error and would end up argueing on who was corrct. geez by the time you get half way down the replys youve lost the will to live

People sound so uneducated these days, to me, smart is sexy

 

I don’t tolerate any kind of ignorance, which is why I no longer listen to urban radio nor do I even watch BET (until recently I had no idea the network was even still on the air). When I hear my fellow brothas and sistas talking in broken English and not giving a damn about how ridiculous they sound, all I can do is shake my head in disgust.


Growing up in my house we were forbidden to use slang at any time. Anytime we were caught using it my mother would hit us like we cursed or something. If we were to ask why she got mad her response was alwys this:


“I want you to learn how to talk like a human being before you learn how they talk out in the streets”.


Needless to say as an adult, I finally understand her rationale and I appreciate her for raising us in that fashion.

Boomhauer's the shit. It's easy to understand him, because it's like 4 actual words in between "yo, dang ol', and mayne". And I love how only Hank, Dale and Bill understand him.
