If michelle was white and they had mixed kids, i think you'd see something.. but for now, many people consider him and his family to be 'black,' so... (even tho he himself was raised by the white side of his fam)
I have not seen an increase or decrease with interracial couples as a whole strolling down the street. Cheers!
I've actually noticed more lately but who knows why. Maybe because we now have an African American in charge, I think white women can now feel safe being with a black man in public. I would think white women realize now that black men have all the power and esteem of their white counterparts. But maybe we should get the opinions of some ladies on the forum. Ladies?
Women in general like men with power. Any man in a position that controls a lot people will tell you that. It turns many of them on. I would imagine some might gather up the courage to pursue their guilty pleasure since you have an African American President. Personally, if I see a girl that I feel is attractive I will bring it to her attention. Whether the president of the United States is African, European, Asian, Indian, or Latino/a it does not add any leverage on the type of girl I would pursue. Cheers!
Max more than ever now you have to believe anything is possible. Twelve months ago many stated, there's no way white America would put a black man in the highest office in the world. The last time a peaked into the white house window, low and behold a black man was in there...
Co-sign. Change and progress is inevitable whether folks like it or not. There were the same type of people who believed that slavery would never end. How'd that issue work itself out?
here in philly i dont see it, racism goes on unabated and people have not changed since inauguration day
Max is correct, if Michelle were white Obama would not be President. I don't think interracial relationships are any more acceptable now because we have a black president. Millions of white people who voted for Obama would still be mortified if their daughter brought home a brother.
I live in a very liberal/progressive neighborhood in a fairly conservative mid-sized city in the South... and I have definitely noticed more black men/white women couples out on the street in recent months. I have lived here for 15 years and never really noticed it happening until just recently. Whether this is coincidence or related to Obama, I have no idea. But it is good to see and always makes me smile. There are a lot of cute couples out there.
that's the next big thing...interracial first family I wanna see a chocolate brotha with the whitest of girls up in that piece :smt045
