I used to run 4 days a week, do my elliptical and resistance on my upper body those same days. Now I do the gym with my best friend who is trying to get ready for a trip in a few months. We do upper body resistance, cardio and abs on Monday and Thursday, on Tues and Friday lower body resistance, cardio and abs. On Wednesday just cardio and abs. I went to lunch with a friend today and as we walked out they said ummm your ass looks good. So I think my hard work is starting to show more.
I've noticed that too! Even in the pool I see women wearing jewelry and waterproof makeup! Robina, I'm with you - lane swimming is fantastic. I swim 5 times a week MWF but twice on Mondays and Wednesdays. I walk lots and do some other stuff too.
I'm about to get on my bike and ride to work I aim to ride every day - but, sometimes that's just too much, or not possible. So, that's 20 miles / 32km per day. I hate doing just about anything slowly - so I ride as fast as possible. I also just re-joined a gym and will be doing weights 4 - 5 days a week. I must also introduce some type of stretching, as I find that repeat activities make me less flexible... I sometimes mountain bike on the weekend I intend to go back to dancing classes soon. Oh, and I just started rock climbing one day a week. I find that if I'm not getting results, I have to either entirely shift my workout routine, or it's dietry. The trick is, in my observation and research, you have to avoid routines. After about 6 weeks, or so, your body becomes used to your repeat activities. Mix it up. And a clean diet makes a huge difference.
well at the end of April ( i want the holidays with easter to finish first because i will be busy ) i will join the gym most i will go 2 times a week ..hope later i will go more days i know it won't be enough but better then nothing.. my plan is to start mostly with cardio workout for few weeks just to to get used to go always and not get tired fast. well what i will like to do later is mostly will be some weights as i dont need to lose weight.. already i know what i will do i will go the classes with body pump and Pilates also boxing oh and dancing just because will be fun i think this is good enough to start .... and maybe get some Dumbells for home so i can do the rest of the time that i dont go .. anyway its easy to say it here then do this but i will this time i wont get my shoes this year lol so i better do this
yoga every morning, floor exercises (push ups, abs) evenings, weights 3 times per week, i run when the mood strikes and belly dance every chance I get including at work when its slow
When I got after work, I still have nmake-up on, but no, I don't specifically wear make-up TO the gym. I will at least put on foundation and lip gloss before I go anywhere.
I don't think you should feel bad. You do your belly dancing and I am sure that is an amazing way to keep fit.
k ladies!!!! i'm sooo excited!! i've been trying to lose weight and i've been trying new things...... so i thought i'd let u know that i've lost 19.5 lbs in 13 days!!! :smt050 yeah...so i'm really happy the only thing is.. i don't really know where i'm losing the weight from i really don't think i look different
Almost 20 lbs in 2 weeks? Congrats!! Most of that is probably water weight. I do believe the healthy target weightloss is 2 lbs a week though.
thanks guys!!! ok....so i've been doing the math... every pound is worth roughly 3,500 calories to have lost 19.5 lbs in 13 days i whould have had to burn 68,250 MORE calories than what i took in that is 5,250 more calories per day if i continue taking in about 750 calories per day...hmm i can probably cut that down to 650 or 600 AND continue working out like a crazy person i should be burning a total of at least 6,000 calories per day this means that i should lose 1.5 lbs per day i should lose a total of 45 lbs. by the 13th of April ...i think that's correct.......
I have a little bowflex at home that I use. The gym is my favorite, but home workouts are more convenient for me.
:smt107 I hope you are kidding! You NEED to consume at least 1200 calories a day (as a woman) to be getting proper nutrition. Don't EVER drop below that, you're running into anorexic territory. Rapid weightloss is EXTREMELY unhealthy! http://www.goodhousekeeping.com/health/diet/calories-per-day-nov06 That's just one example. Also, you will be losing more than fat - you'll be losing healthy muscle. And you're going to be making your body extremely weak and putting it in starvation mode - which means you won't be losing any more weight because your body is freaking out at what you're doing to it right now. Why are you trying to lose so much weight so quickly?
i hope you're kidding Hi guys I'm new here and just happened by this post and had to respond. Bookworm is right, as a woman you need a minimum of 1200 calories/day to be healthy, as she said, less than that and you'll be digesting you're own body tissue. I don't need to keep quoting her, I just wanted to add to her post; I'm a nurse, I work in critical care and I've worked with a few patients hospitalized for anorexia in the past what you're doing is dangerous. When the body uses it's own fat and protein for energy it's not specific to your butt or belly that you're trying to lose... you are also losing cardiac muscle (the cells that provide structure and function to your heart) and fat that cushions vital organs like your heart... sorry for stressing about your heart, but I'm a cardiac nurse and I don't want to generalize to give you the wrong answer. There's safe ways to lose weight and a lot of good (and bad) information online, educate yourself. If you can afford it see a trainer at a gym or nutritionist and make realistic goals. But I can tell you from personal and professional experience it's not losing weight that's difficult, it's maintaining weightloss. If you want to lose 45lbs great, (I'm not sure if you have 45 lbs to lose... do people look at you like you're crazy when you tell them that? ... what's the big deal about April 13th?) but your weightloss will last longer if you lose weight slowly and learn about the amount of activity and food you need to maintain your body at a size you're comfortable with, looks good and is healthy. I could go on and on for ages, if you want more info email me or message me, I'm sure there's that type of function on here
please please be careful emmalee, your heading into very low calorie diet territory, normally to do that you need to be on one of the liquid diets ( cambridge diet and the like where they carefully balance the carbs and protien to put you in to mild ketosis. this helps the hunger pangs but ultimatly protects you muscles, the major one being your heart. for this diet you would need to be seriously over weight and be under very close medical observation hun
No don't feel bad TS. I am with you, however I will admit there is only one form of exercise I enjoy.... LOL........... I like having curves & staying fit,,,, you can do both.....
