I wonder how can you cope with being cool while there's nothing but fools deeds around you.

Here the relationship is" weakened" by distance ; for instance if your gf is not around and the Jones- the neighbours "nose" ( I mean intrude their opinions or inquires and dirt inderctly your relathionship) and finally you "are" "weakened" .
