TOP 10 happiest countries in the world. The basis of this list is research done by professor Ruut Veenhoven who runs the World Database of Happiness at Erasmus University Rotterdam.

    How is happiness measured?

Happiness can be very subjective. Some people are happy when it rains, others are happy when the sun is shining. So how is it measured? Apparently the people at World Database of Happiness take into account a number of different things such as average life expectancy and most importantly the answer to the following multiple choice question “How happy are you?” (Although the actual question has varied a bit throughout the years). Having all the variables they run it through a computer and get a number from 1 to 10. The bigger the number, the happier the country

It's shame AMERICA is not in the top ten list I was heartbroken because I love United States too much, If I recall it might have been 20th or maybe lower what a shame guatemalans are now happier than americans this shows the damage done to this country by years of right wing bushism reaganomics etc etc on and on,,,,,America continues to slip away .... I've heard Iranians have a better education system did anybody hear that ? what a shame. Do you guys know the majority of fortune 500 were once american companies today they are mostly European. shame !! shame !! shame !! If the right wing have their way this country becomes like mexico the second richest man lives there but the masses are almost living in state of destitution where they have to flee to the states for better lives Where are americans going to flee when their country become a banana republic ? Canada ? ofcourse It is in the list thank god. ?

I was shocked that the UK wasn't on there :?
They must be taking all our grumpy humour seriously, or he just did not know that when someone says they are having an Allright day, they are actually having a Fan daby dosey day.

Luxembourg dont count though as its the size of a fingernail.
Give them mass population and see how happy they are then. ;)

On the basis of UK TV soaps like Coronation Street and Eastenders, the UK must be the most unhappy country .

I can easily see why Canada made the list. It's a country loaded with space and natural beauty. Although we do have long winters, heavy snowfall (as seen in this pic taken last year in Ottawa) can make for great excuses to stay home, cause you can't find your car under it all, and do something a bit more fun. :smt079:smt077

Ahh the infamous Tube Face, thank god i don't use it , last time i was on it with a few pals going to Knightsbridge, all those impassive faces that could wilt a Pansy. :(

A girlfriend of mine who works up by the Barbican, starts her conversations with her horrid Train and Tube travelling of the day.

I'm surprised that Italy is not on the list. I have a stereotype that Italians people are always laughing and smiling. lol am I wrong?
