Who seen it? I thought it was,ok. It was like all others,only this time they threw it the token hiphop,"cool" black dude,and a crazy,goofy asian nerd for everybody to laugh at. While the abercrombie n fitch looking white guys are out getting some ass,the black dude is left beating his meat to some catalog,and the asian dude is left doing stupid shit,like drinking beer out of a shoe. There are like, 20 Fri. the 13th's or something!! Man, they just get stupider all the time. But it's not surprising how the script went. I won't go see though. But no, OF COURSE all the white people get some in the movies and the minorities are left beating it amongst themselves. That's how Hollywood will always be. I think the last time a brotha got some in that series was 20-something years ago when a black man had, gasp, a black girlfriend!
I’m not going to see it, just another movie remake. I thought it would end at Freddy vs. Jason. There have been so many Friday the 13th films that the newest one is laughable; it was similar to the time when I was in the theater and seeing the trailer of The Seed of Chucky, nearly every person in the audience was laughing followed by, “Are they serious?”. Hollywood has been out of ideas, so they either remake old movies or take foreign films and replace the cast. If you want to see a great horror movie watch the film, “Audition”. You should check it out before Hollywood takes the film and replace the cast with Caucasian actors/actresses.
I love Jason, but they need to let the franchise die. Too many god damn remakes of every possible movie. And the movie industry wonders why it's been in these little slumps. Fuck em'. I'll download it when it comes out on dvd.

True, true. The Texas Chainsaw massacre remakes were hella raw, and so were the Hill Have Eyes remakes. But I haven't seen the originals yet. The fuck.
I loved both of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remakes. I did see the original. I haven't seen the original 1977 The Hills Have Eyes though, either. I've seen the remakes though and I loved 'em too.
I went and saw this movie tonight...it was alright. I laughed at some parts, like then the guy screams like a little girl, haha. I admit, there were some parts that made me jump. But the gore didn't bug me...I guess I've become desensitized to it.
Yea, I think once we reach a certain age we have to find other ways to be entertained by a horror movie, like laughing at a guy screaming like a little girl or test our limits and see how desensitized to gore we are. Or keep our eyes peeled for stereotypes and racial discrimination like a few other people.
I saw it and liked it a lot. I noticed the racial overtones in it, but didn't really care because like I said before that is black hollywood's fault for not speaking up a lot more and being a voice on obvious racism going on. AA Leaders and AA celebrity leaders (like denzel and will.) Needs to say something, the public knows whats up, but the media can easily take our voice away.
While there are some things AA celebs can do please tell me overall what they are supposed to change regarding this situation? Most importantly why have you chosen to ignore the people who are arguably even more at fault: the African American consumers. African American consumers are the most useless and unreliable folks out there. They support garbage on TV and in films and don't do enough by using their ticket buying clout to give lift to the rare quality works regarding black people (excuse #1: "I didn't know about it...they should have advertised it better...yada, yada, yada"). No offense but when we have black folks paying money for this flick, well, what does that say? And when those black supporters learn of how the black characters were used and still brush it off because overall they enjoyed the film then the finger has to be pointed at the consumers. There are many things I can trash, Denzel, Will, Spike , etc about (and I have done a lot of it in these forums). But ultimately things don't change until black folks want and demand more quality opportunities. And that means withholding their dollars from mainstream dreck that does not treat black characters any better than it did 20 or 30 years ago. Of course when many black people think quality opportunities equates more Tyler Perry like films then the cause is probably lost anyway.
Great point(s) Jamal. That's why I rarely even go to the movies anymore, much less support any new sitcoms and dramas coming on tv these dayz. And Hollywood wonders why their viewership is down. It's not just race, its quality of the content. We can no longer just use the excuse that's "it's on tv" to justify our sheep-to-shepherd following of this crap. That's the work of the affiliate system for the big three networks. I for one finally figured that out. It's about time we stopped watching these programs that don't support proper minority character development or don't have minorities on these shows at all. We should start watching shows that more resemble our community.
Black women hate how they are portrayed in the media,yet love them some Tyler Perry movies/shows.I remember movie hopping into a viewing of Diary Of A Mad Black Woman,and saw nothing but a bunch of loud,ghetto,fat black women in there with their extra large popcorn stuffing themselves,yuck. We need more black directors like Spike Lee,and people who think outside of the box
