in the states, president's day (monday--today) is a holiday, and for many, a company holiday. But MLK day was not?

    why?
    just curious

First of all, MLK is a nat'l holiday. But you've already been told that.

But that being said, I kinda find it odd that your company has President's Day as a paid day off and not MLK Day. Not because of the distinction between what each day is for, but because most companies either take ALL fed holidays off as paid days, or it's the minimum fed holidays route which only include New Year's, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
