As you might have already heard, like Abraham Lincoln, Charles Darwin was born on this date 200 years ago, February 12, 1809. Celebrations of the lives of both men are taking place in many parts of the world and in many places online — including on the Science section of this very Web site, where there is an interactive look at Darwin’s writings, a collection of articles and multimedia features on evolution, an Editorial Observer column by Verlyn Klinkenborg and an Op-Ed by Olivia Judson. http://thelede.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/02/12/bad-day-for-darwin-haters/?hp
they are making a big eh... I don't knovv the vvord... like a museum but it's temporary... about him, in Rome.
Only four in ten Americans believe in evolution. One of the reasons why so many of our 300,000,000 people are fucking idiots is due to scientific illiteracy. http://www.gallup.com/poll/114544/Darwin-Birthday-Believe-Evolution.aspx
Saty, stop telling to everybody that they are idiots :-(. There are different opinions in the vvorld . Anyvvays, I agree vvith you that most of times it's just ingnorance. I don't have any problem to conciliate religion and science (even though I'm not "religious" in the common meaning). Some ppl think that you have to believe one thing or another, though. Regretting evolution, vvith all the proofs vve have is like regretting holocaust, in my opinion. But eh, that is.
