    Release Date:
    September 11, 2009
    SYNOPSIS:
After two years stationed at Antarctica's South Pole research base, lone U.S. Marshal Carrie Stetko (Kate Beckinsale) is as anxious as anyone to be going home. She's turned in her resignation and is counting the hours and minutes to the last plane out. But three days before departure, a body turns up on the ice and Carrie is immediately thrust into Antarctica's first murder investigation. As the death toll mounts, the mystery deepens with shifting loyalties, deadly whiteouts, and a relentless killer who will stop at nothing to protect a secret buried for over sixty years. Now with everyone around her packing up and getting out, Carrie must solve the crime before Antarctica is plunged into six months of darkness and she is stranded with the killer on a land where nothing comes in and no one gets out.

Columbus: Kate is one of my closest friends. I would venture out to say she is one of my dearest friends. We got extremely close filming Whiteout. Since then, our families hangout and travel together. We take vacations together. She’s a confidant and a counselor to my issues and whatever I’m dealing with at the time. Its a blessing to have a friend like Kate.

Columbus is just IN the movie. However, he's a rising young actor (who has had a taste of Britney Spears), and he's a definite love interest for Megan Fox in the future.

You know what! irespective of whether there is an IR connection with it, i will go see that film when its out as it sounds bloody good.

    Thanx Noble :D

But here is a pic of her Dad Richard Beckinsale with his black co star Don Warrington (they are the 2 at the bottom of the pic) and Leonard Rossiter in the BBCs Rising Damp sitcom from the 70s, they share a room in the boarding house and get up to mischief together.
I used to watch it with my Nan and Grandad.

I can't remember the womans name but she was called Miss Jones in it and she occasionally had a thing for Don Warringtons Character. :D

this is true...he was either a dancer or the dance choreographer on one of her tours.
this was pre-K-Fed. and post- Justin.
he has some baby momma drama as well while seeing Brit.
Brit's mom , once word got out, had him fired.

There was some tabloid pix of them.

I'm more impressed that the movie poster nearly copies the graphic novel's Frank Miller cover to a "T"...

At the risk of sounding sexist, but I see this movie a week or 2 in the theaters and then straight to video.

The male audience tend to frown on movies that star the female as a hero.

As for any interracial romance . . . I doubt it.

    That seems unlikely to me.

Comic books have a far more predominately male audience than movies, and that comic book audience is traditionally far more sexist. I'm not saying this to dis comic books or their fans, I'm a fan, but if you pay any type of attention at all to the industry, the way the characters are portrayed, or the habits of comic book fans in general, you can see this. If you contrast the portrayal of female characters in movies versus comic books, you will find a FAR more balanced portrayal of women in the movies.

So, I figure if this did okay as a comic book despite having a female lead, it should have an easy time getting an audience in theaters.

I understand you p.o.v. but I think saying the comic book audience is sexist is extreme.
Young men ,as you stated, are the majority buyers of comic books but as they get older 12,13,etc...their interests shift towards teenage girls and dating.
That's why the comic industry creates those exaggerated physiques for their female characters..they're appealing to those youngsters' dicks just to keep them buying.
Even the comic to movies maintained that sex appeal....if looking at A. Jolie in a cat suit so tight that imprint of her nipples are visible, makes a 15 year old boy spends $10-12 to see...then the shit is working.

The industry isn't going to complain and neither will Angelina.
