It is not the older trade in the world. That lie was originally promoted by bible thumpers who wanted to spread the whole women as evil temptresses bullshit.

Porn is *not* regulated. Don't believe what ya heard. A tiny minority of "stars" get tested regularly, but the industry is HUGE and most people aren't getting tested. Meanwhile, it can take up to 6 months sometimes for a postive person to come up positive.

I'm not saying you could eliminate STDS in prostitution, anymore than you can eliminate labor law violations.

But things could be much much much better than they currently are.

yeah and those who are tested still come up positive on occasion and by that time they have exposed many others. Besides, arent you the one who was trying to tell everyone men in prison arent tested also? LOL

By the time a prositute came around to their testing date and had a long enough incubation time to finally test positive, they could have exposed countless people to any number of diseases, not just tradional STDs.

I don't see what your point is, but I was quoting ABC, what was your source?

I don't see what your point here is either. So yes, prostitutes will continue to spread STDs. Wow. Already agreed with you there. We could, however, reduce the spread of STD's by legalizing prostitution and regulating it. Are you disagreeing with that? Or are you just saying that if we can't eliminate the problem we should instead ignore it?

Personally, I don't even find STD's to be the biggest argument for legalization anyway. The biggest problem for me is the conditions for the female & male prostitutes. Prostitution, if not a victimless crime, is a near-victimless crime, in my opinion, so it concerns me that by criminalizing the prostitutes, we've put them in great lifelong danger. What does a prostitute do when he or she is raped or battered?

To me, the STD's come in with the victimless crime thing. The biggest argument about what victims are created by prostitution is the problem of STDs and unknowing spouses. Like you said, this will continue even if prostitution is legalized, but it will be reduced.

So it seems to me that it's clear the biggest problems with prostitution could be reduced by legalizing.
