Sometimes Mike38 says crazy things. I'll be honest, there were a few times certain songs made me wanna smoke herb. But, those times weren't limited to hip hop music. Its just that I like to smoke and some things inspire me more than others to do so!. :smt025 I bet Phelps is gonna be paranoid as hell now if he ever blazes w/ people again.
It's not just "hating," it's complete and utter stupidity. I've actually never been much of a fan of rap music myself, but I've been "exposed" to countless hours of rap and hip hop tracks when I was a kid while hanging out with my friends and it didn't seem to have much of an effect on me. I'm not saying that you can't be critical about the quality and substance of the music or the glorification of certain unsavory facets of urban culture, it's that the notion that rap music corrupts "innocent minds" is utterly inane to me. Every recent generation has seen cultural conservatives attack and demonize popular culture. Particularly, black inspired pop culture. Considering the fact that seventy years ago there was a consensus that listening to the likes of Cab Calloway, Duke Ellington and Count Basie would turn people into degenerates as well, I don't take that particular criticism of rap music seriously at all.
Might be a while before that ever happens but it is "legal" within the state of California. (medical marijuana laws). There's dispensaries(herb stores) all over this state.
