I saw Sevendust in '98 with Limp Bizkit. That was cool. A friend of mine saw Nine Inch Nails in September in Cleveland. She loves those dudes and really enjoyed the show. I have seen -Mushroomhead hundreds of times -Sevendust -Limp Bizkit -Body Count (Ice T's metal band) -Peeping Tom (Mike Patton from Faith No More's new project) -Cannibal Corpse -Nirvana I would love to see (or would love to have seen) -Pantera -Down -Slayer -Tool -Faith No More -Killswitch Engage -Shadows Fall -Rage Against The Machine -Alice In Chains -Hatebreed -Mr. Bungle -HIM
Oh man, I'd love to see Tool. Or A Perfect Circle. I just wanna see Maynard!!!! *L* He's one of my idols. Such an amazing artist! Sevendust was fan fucking tastic. They rocked so hard they blew a transformer or something *L* I think it was something smaller than that, but the show got way off track for quite some time while they were fixing the technical issues that caused the park to lose power during the beginning of the set. I got really nervous cause all the crazy redneck metalheads started lighting shit on fire in the mosh pit. I was afraid they were gonna riot or something if Sevendust didn't come back on! The air was so tense and people were getting so pissed. That was a wild night. Then they came back on and played extra songs for us because of the delay. NIN...I don't think I'll ever see a concert as amazing as that one. It wasn't a concert, it was a fucking experience, man. The visuals were stunning. I found myself so torn between being mezmerized and trying to figure out the science behind the way they were accomplishing all the gorgeous shit I was seeing. Oh man. It was beautiful. My only regret is we couldn't afford good seats, but we got decent ones. The Toyota center was packed! If you ever get the chance to see NIN do it. You will not regret it!
They really are an amazing group. One thing I love about them is that they're all about the music. You don't see them in the videos. It makes you focus less on them and more on their music. But their videos are still kick-ass Well that was cool that they played some more songs after all that. Some of my friends give me shit about liking them. They said they suck and all this. I'm like "Whatever man". Sevendust can go as heavy as any band out there. If you listen to their older shit, you see that. I don't have much of their newer stuff, but it's still fuckin good. I could listen to "Bitch" and "To Close To Hate" and "Waffle" all day Yeah my friend said basically the same things about the concert. If I ever have the money to go, I'd go. They're something else. It just takes me back to the 90s everytime I hear them :smt020
Hmm, well I used to be a technical manager at an arena that had concerts all the time, so my list will be a bit long and a lot of the stuff would not be by choice, so I'll just bold my choice stuff. Mariah Carey Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young Enrique Eglossyass Madonna Britney Spears Dave Matthews Bandx2 John Mayer R.Kelly - best concert, by far Alicia Keys Joss Stone Eric Clapton I know I'm forgetting some stuff
Your blood type is a crazy ass gothic metal band. These guys are fucking huge, btw. They're each around 6'3-6'5 I believe. When they played this song I was relaxing on a park bench trying to figure out how bad the concussion I got in the mosh pit was. Crazy night. They went on at midnight after an all day concert in the park. Everyone at the concert was stoned/drunk/tired/wired/trippin' (the drug kinda trippin) by then. I really should've known better than to try and be next to the stage, but it was my first concert ever so I didn't realize how crazy the pit can get!
Hey DH, I'll check them out at lunch. I've never heard of them. Favorite recent concerts would be Maroon 5, Green Day, and Roger Waters.
For you DH (and everyone else too lol)-Sevendust with "Waffle":
Ohhh LaJon, why must you be so hot? Face 2 Face is my favorite Sevendust song. "You can't stop fucking with my head, stop fucking with my head!!!"
Coming up: • D12, Royce da 5'9 & Obie Trice - 1st of April • N-Dubz & Tinchy Stryder - 4th of April • Prodigy & Dizzee Rascal (damn I've seen him way too many times now) - 7th of April
Hands down, the best performer you will ever see live is Prince. I've been to close to 70 concerts in my life, from Clapton to The Police to Parliament, and without a doubt, Prince killed them all live. Even if you are not a fan of his, go see him perform and it will change your mind. Eventually he will play almost every instrument in the band better than the person he's hired to play with him! Plus, you never know what he will play...he has his band learn approximately 200 songs to go on tour, so you never know what he will pull out. Do yourself a favor, if he ever comes anywhere near you go see it. You will be mad at what other performers call a concert after that!
I was very disappointed when I saw Green Day. They've been around for like 15 years and all they could put on was a 90 minute concert? Come on.... Roger Waters, who is twice their age, put on a 3 hour concert.... I would like to see Prince in concert one day. He has "performer" written all over him. I don't doubt that he puts on a great show. He did for the SuperBowl a couple of years ago. I just wish concerts are so dang expensive, though!!
I love concerts, and have been fortunate to see many great people. First concert was Alice Cooper in the mid seventies, cant recall the year. There was public outcry (like with Marilyn Manson today) and my Mom let us go as a protest. We werent even teenagers yet. Last concert was Smokey Robinson with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. I loved this one. First time seeing Smokey. Best concert I have ever been to would have to be would have to be the Montreaux jazz Festival. Miles and Quincy together. Worst Concert would have to be a group called Zebra from the 80s. Or maybe Angel.
Okay well I'm going to see D12 tomorrow. I'm not too fussed about them, we'll they're okay but kinda shit without Proof. Anyway, I'm more excited about the support - Royce Da 5'9 and Obie Trice. Mostly excited about Royce. Then I'm going to see GFK at the start of May. I heard that De La Soul are playing in Glasgow in April but I think it's another one of those promotion scams, like what someone did with GFK back in Feb. Ahh well.
