Fitness and thinness are not the same thing. I can understand wanting someone that is "fit" or "thin" but that doesn't mean that a thin girl is "fit." For the men that like thinner women: Do you prefer women that are active and in good shape or do you simply prefer women that are thinner and LOOK like they are fit?

I didn't want to elaborate because my initial post was meant for KnCA and it was a direct response to her. And she apparently understood me and so did Britty24. So why should I develop any further if you just seem to be lost in your own interpretation of what I wrote?

Regarding the "arbitor of blackness", I'd advise you to read the entire post again and maybe you'll realize that you've just taken a sentence out of 4 different paragraphs that dealt with black men preference, sociocultural conditionning, change in the shape of white women considered sex symbol over the years, fashion etc. Which means you've taken my statement out of its context.

No one here claims to write a thesis based on scientific research supported by credentials and thorough research. When we respond, I think we all speak from our personal experience, POV or paradigm. So do I really need to specify each time I write something that it's not based on "scientific evidence" or anylisis but rather on casual observation from my very own experience? I wrote "globally", which meant I am talking about black men I met in Africa, Europe and here in North America. Thus what I wrote was totally anecdotical, so I think your "arbitor of blackness" comment was totally unecessary and even the sign of someone who is merely trying to be difficult.

So you've taken this statement of mine out of rather detailed explanation and came to the conclusion below:

For your information, meat is a euphemism for flesh. All women have flesh, no? That's why I included that "extra meat" at the end to make the disctinction between curvy women and the ones that are sveltes.

You're the one who seems to confuse being athletic and being lean as if the two were inseparable.

There goes Serena Williams, she is one of the most athletic women in pro sports. Is she lean? Doesn't she have "extra meat" on her?

Would you consider Martina Hingis lean? That's arguable, but I don't think anyone would dispute the fact that she is very athletic

I said I forgot to put "real black men" in quotation to specify that I was referring to my very own definition of what constituted "real black men". So read my original post again because I am talking about the preference of black men in women in three different continent based on my experience, and I denounce anorexic looking girls, the fashion industry, the western sociocultural conditionning etc.

You could simply have asked me what I meant by "real black men" and I would have offered an explanation. Instead, it seems like you became delirious in your own interpratation, because nowhere I imply that a black man who liked athletic, lean women wasn't a "real black man".

I like them first 2 pics so, yeah yeah, I'd fuck with it. They are still too skinny in those pics, but it's better than the last pic.

You know I had not thought of that, I just scour the second hand stores, so thanks for the idea!!
You see that's the myth, fit does not equal thin. Many a thin woman has not strength or stamina, and is very unhealthy. Many a heavier woman is very, fit. My guy is extremely fit, he works out twice a day in the gym and can practically lift a house, he has not stomach to speak of and has very strong legs. I do work out, but I have a number of extra pounds on me, and he honestly appreciates who I am and is very attracted to how I look.

    Great post Chosen.

That's the same as me. No-one thinks I'm skinny but everyone thinks I take a smaller clothes size than I do because I'm tall. And I don't just mean being polite...I mean people will actually BUY me the wrong clothes size!!!

Here we can agree, some of the most unhealthy, unfit women I have ever met, (including a former nanny we employed, she did not last long) would "technically" be called skinny or thin. I am always amazed at women who are smokers, never work out, have zero muscle tone and definition, poor eating habits, poor rest habits, ect. believe they are healthy just because they are not overweight.

So slender, fit, and leading a healthy lifestyle is my preference, which is an accurate description of my wife. I have no problem with other men finding different body types on a woman attractive, I would say that it is inherently unfair that those of us who do everything we can to lead healthy lifestyles, must also bear the cost burden of those who make other health compromising lifestyle choices, which is running into the Billions of dollars. The overweight and obesity epidemic in this country will cost not only us but future generations will have to pay that bill as well. So levels of fitness and body types are not just about physical aesthetic preferences, there is a real danger, financially and otherwise to our country as waistlines continue to expand they way they have for years now.

your are so right, Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, there is no way for people to tell that the bigger looking person is "fitter" than the thinner looking person without some "handson" experiance. I think at the start you cant tell but only when you get into situations with the individuals that you can truly realise. Personally I go to the gym 3 times a week minimum, and am dedicated to health and fitness so I expect any partners Im with to be at least conscious of their health. My girlfriend for example goes with me to at least two of my gym sessions a week, when I was a serial "dater" i found that some extremely skinny women were unfit compared to some of the bigger women outthere, so your right in not always equating being fit to being thin.
