the girl im with right now is a little bit chuby, shrugs I don't care about looks, I'm attracted to her and I like her.

But it's not like I have a thing for thick girls or skinny girls etc., my ex was slim like a runway model so I really have no preferences. But whatever...........

Effie how did the brothers treated you in high school? Hope it was more positive.

Not sure if this thread is about anything?

One guy states that he prefers fat chicks, probably because he's a fat dude himself. I'm fit and prefer women that are dedicated to similar levels of fitness, big deal.

I didn't really date high school guys at all. When I was in high school my beau was in college. I just assumed it was because I preferred more "mature" men, lol college guy "mature", anyway... I realized later it was more because older guys appreciated a more curvy look, or were more (mentally) equipped to approach a womanly-looking young lady. I did some hand-holding with a nice young black man in my teens, but he was also older than I was.

As for just day-to-day stuff, I would say I was treated about the same by the younger guys. They all preferred the cheerleaders and popular types. I was painfully shy.

see, fitness wise---i'm healthy as a horse (HA! dorky saying, i know) and I do cardio workouts everyday and pilates and lift weights
i'm really into fitness and being healthy
i AM fit, but i'm still thick with some serious "woman curves"
and most would consider me a bigger (or [hate this term] "big boned") girl but i work out just as much as any other health nut
i don't see why a "fit" guy wouldn't prefer me to a skinny girl just cuz i am naturally thicker
    get what im sayin?

    Some guys like petite girls.
Like the whole idea behind this thread - PREFERENCE.

If you don't like the term "bigger" or "big boned", just use "sexier" as it's clear that you would have more sex appeal than the skinny babes in "Blackland" ;)

Believe me Emmalee, truly fit guys are out there who would very much appreciate a woman like you. I've dated body builders and fitness trainers and they are quite OK with how I look and are in NO WAY fat themselves. I just prefer a bigger man, he doesn't have to be a body builder, but a man with 24" biceps is certainly NOT fat, satyricon.

I workout as well, I am a former gymnast and I could out bench press most of the guys here claiming to be "fit". (It ain't bragging if it's true.) If I were to dig deep and get out my Ms. Nasty-tude I would say that most guys who seem to think they are fit are just plain skinny. That's not "fit" that's "not grown yet". Which is just not attractive to me.

I'm thick and I like thick; and no, we aren't either one fat.

I get what you are saying Emmalee! I too am healthy, I can literally outswim every person but the one varsity swimmer in my physical activity class and these people are 18-22 years old and skinny! I have the resting heart rate of a runner and the blood pressure to match. But if someone sees me on the street, I would be described as "thick" because I am shaped like a woman with breasts, hips and a real live waist, lol.

Thankfully I couldn't care less what people think about me just like most of the women on this forum, I am here to enjoy myself.

    Cheers :D

OK maybe slight exaggeration...I haven't been competitive since my pregnancy. However, I still have the form and the brass ovaries.

    I'll throw down...if necessary.

Sounds like it was very difficult for you. I never thought about it in that way. I always wished I had an hourglass figure but never had. My waist was never small enough although with age and a little weight gain my hips have widened but my waist to hip ratio is still only about 5 inches.

I think, more often than not, "like attracts like". Also, in cases where the likeness isn't apparent on the surface...

I don't think that Machiavel is trying to cause any harm or be negative. I think he was reflecting and referencing the most common generalization regarding what is preferred by the black male in terms of a woman's body shape. He knows it's not true and he's trying to say that now.

I disagree. He made a sweeping generalization and then followed it up with being the arbitor of blackness. He knows what he is saying and how unacceptable it is, which is why he keeps saying he doesnt want to elaborate.

People should be free to like who they like, period. The whole idea that in order to be considered black enough, you have to like women with meat is ridiculous. Personally I get sick of the women who constantly talk about other women who arent their size, no matter the direction it goes in. BE YOU. DO YOU. Let everyone else alone.
