Oh boy, did I know I was in the minority. It was NOT fun being a teenager with an hourglass figure in our culture of "12-year boy figures" are "hot". At 113 pounds I was called (and believed I was) fat.

Also, clothing (even misses cuts) are designed for a 10 inch waist-to-hip difference. I've always had between a 15 and 20 inch difference (about 20 now). If I didn't have a thing for 50s dresses, I'd be nekked half the time. ;)

Well I never was quite 24" but at 38-26-42+, (back then I could do 100 situps at a whack) Having curves when straight and skinny was in, when an A cup was envied, I had such large breast that I had back pain often, I'm short and was called stocky often.

I had very muscular legs and was a bit heavier than my friends, so at 125 lbs I was called fat and believed it, then when I did get down 115 I still thought I was fat, but the funny thing was I had to wear a size 7/8 in a dress, a 9/10 in jeans (and I had to take those in at the waist) but if I bought an A-line skirt I could wear a size 5, so isn't that quite a range, and that was after having my first kid.

And I had a few 50's dresses too, but they were hard to come by in the 70's.

Sounds really familiar. I say now...damn if I knew then what I know now. Fat - HA!

Tink you and I must have a similar build...maybe shi was right. But he was saying we look alike by face and of course we don't.

    I think you do.,,,look alike

Based on the pics ive seen.

But weight-wise id say one is clearly more athletic than the other,,,,, i wont name any names though.

How would you know? she hasn't listed her weight. And neither have I. I'm 4" (?) taller than her too. Obviously, I've shown way more photos (body parts, etc) than she has. There would be no way of knowing...she hasn't shown anything.

Looks wise we only look alike in that we have dark hair and eyes. She doesn't have olive skin even (light or otherwise). That's like saying all bald headed black men look alike. HARDLY.

And to all my white sisters out there:::::

Your body is just a body

With sufficient discipline, self love and ambition, you too can obtain any level of physical agility at any time. (Which is precisely what mesmerizes me when women like "lipstick" get on here assuming brothers like us cant land "athletic" women..……….amazing)

First of all, there is no reason in calling yourselves "fat" and so fourth;and I don’t think there is any excuse what so ever to be in a physical condition of borderline obesity especially if you have any say in it.

Like I said ::: anyone can be any weight at any given time with enough dedication/discipline.

Lets take Thickshawty as an example (sorry woman)...Now this girl has great potential, from what Ive seen, and she has the body type that would make her "sexier" (in black mens perspective), than your average "skinny" girl. By this I mean, she has baby(natural) fat inclinations in her body, somewhat similar to beyonce and numerous other thick(not fat) females that SHOULD remain on a strict diet(and work out routine) or else they will plummet in terms of physical agility. She has those hips and hourglass figure that would obtain pronunciations through vigorous work out routine. But why does she choose the route of calling herself "fat"..??.....beats me

Like I said, there is potential in everyone, I just cant comprehend why someone would call themselves "fat" and live with it. I just cant…and nor do I understand the logic(and audacity)some women have on here, when blatantly telling us we cant land girls that take care of their bodies....haha...truly an insult, if there ever was one.

So while sonnyshao had good intentions when he created this thread, I don’t think he truly comprehends the profound problem at our disposal in terms of health and weight issues. And this hits close to home with me because I work part time getting women (and some men) back to shape. And from my own personal observations and experiences, I think anyone (even people from opposite ends of the weight curve,) can be super model material with enough dedication and personal discipline..…..maybe you will not be like tyra banks, but trust me, you will be your own version of tyra depending on the structure of your own skeletal frame. So like I said……hit the gym (and take it VERY seriously) ladies; there is no reason on this planet to call yourself fat and live with it.

    No-need- what so ever

    anyways,,,,back to studying

I know we all have our idea of thick but if we are going to put up a pic atleast she should resemble some facet of thick. An athlete who is still to young to buy her own alcohol doesn't quite get it for me.

You took the words out of my mouth K!

I also only showed one pic while sitting down, and holding a child. That makes it real hard to see the body. So ........ humm.......

And yes you are taller than me, and as far as I can tell you have smaller hips, and even if I told my weight, it wouldn't say much because I am very muscular so I weigh more than anyone can guess. Size is more realistic, and in the pic I showed, you may not realize it was a small chair, but looked large. (You are probably a lot larger than me, but you may not weigh more.) In fact I'm so short that when I had some medical tests and procedures done they had to readjust things for child sizes. I wear a size 5 1/2 shoe my hands are very small

I am a short, curvy and (yes rather "hip-ie") 5' size 14 petite. I wear a 38 D and that makes a size 14 blouse fit tight, but a larger size is to big in the shoulders and through the back, so I wear them. The shirt I had on in the pic is a 12, but it is a stretch knit And if I posted a pic of my butt you may all call it a "bubble butt" at least that's what I've learned from this forum.

But then of course Luc is going to say TTIWWP!! and that's the way it will stay!!:p

I think the point that is being missed her bmj is that while there are those on here posting all sorts of model pics, we also know that people live in the real world.

I have not questioned who can get what in terms of looks and/or body. Actually, quite the contrary...one time I made a very controversial comment about that anyone can truly get any other person if they wanted. I won't go into the details about this but it's true. 90% of anything in life is attitude.

You know as well as I do that there are people out there with preferences for all different body types, skin color, hair color, etc. Thick is not simply anything over the size of a model. And the idea of aspiring to aneorexia is not a good one either.

You can say all sorts of things about a person's size and how they got there and so on. But you don't know everything and quite frankly you haven't lived a lot of life. There are those who have different body types as you well know. There are those who may have all sorts of different medical issues and so forth - you simply do NOT Know.

Let me make something perfectly clear here. I am exactly how I am at any given moment. When I was 34 I almost died. I became very clear at that point in life that our shell (our body) was just that ...a shell. I knew that before but not in the same way that I knew at that moment. At that point I was not fat. Btw - I have no problem with the word. Call it something else...whatever...it's the same - so what. I am someone who is working on my body. I do work out. I have to fight very hard to even stay where I'm at right now and do better. Thankfully, yes I was always extremely atheletic and that's something that has helped me emensly with battling chronic illness in life. But I'm not working on my body because of self esteem issues or because I want to make some guy like me. It's for my own reasons. And guess what...no matter what size I am - I'm a really great person and I'm cool with who I am and there are plenty of men out there who are cool with me too. And here's this really great thing that I learned along the way...whether I'm a size 8 or a size 18....the sex appeal is the same...it's about who I am and the energy I convey.

Look...I get this is something you do and you are very passionate. I'm not advocating obesity and I take issue with men who are all about how if a woman get's under a certain weight then he doesn't want her.

The thing about preferences is that they are PREFERENCES...for most that really doesn't mean that they are RULES etched in stone.

And while it's ok for you to like thin women, it's cool for other men to like big women, and everything in between. I mean isn't that really sortof the root of all of this bullshit that goes on...we want to all be loved, accepted, appreciated and respected AS WE ARE (and for the preferences we have)!

Well of course...and he has no way of knowing anything about me either. Some photos standing - so what. You showed one pic of a side shot of your face and one holding a baby in dark clothing. Nothing could be told by any of that. And on my pics...yah ok whatever - on any given day, angle, clothing, etc...it looks very different.

You are more hippy and I'm more chesty (40DD). I wear a 20 in tops but like you the sleeves and shoulders typically don't fit well. I definitely have the booty but not so much width in the hips (don't know if you do or not) I do have a wider back...even when 135 I'm a 38DD. I have thighs for sure - always had "thunder thighs" even at a size 5/7 and always thought that meant they were fat. I'm just really muscular...but again...TG because that truly is what has had me survive.

And yah weight wise - you would be blown away too...the docs will check it 3-4 times when I get on the scale because they don't believe it.

I have a feeling that neither of us where very tight/form fitting clothing...and it can be very misleading.

Hey it is what it is until it's any different.

And yes, obviously, we don't look anything alike. Not negative about either of us...cause we are both beautiful :) Just look VERY different and are beautiful in very different ways.

Well the whole thing cracked me up because we definitely have a VERY different look to each of us. I mean yah we both have dark hair and eyes. But it really is like all bald black men with similar builds (one 5'8 and one 6'0) and age range would look the same then....NOT. And you know damn well they would have all gotten beyond pissy if we said something like that!

Preach, baby, preach. Maybe if we say it enough people will stop acting like children and get along with each other.

bmj...now i mesmerize you...how long has this been going on? this fascination that you have with me is just getting out of hand...i'm trying to let you down gently here...you in toronto...me in denver...you being so much younger...it just won't work...although i love black men...not just any black man will do...even with a washboard stomach...you see, i like my men tall, muscles are fine but i like my man thick in all the right places...

please just try and study! :smt051

    Different strokes for different folks.

I'll use DH's ex-boyfriend as an example....she showed me some artwork of him a while back and she told me that he was 2 inches shorter than me and weighs about 170. I'm 180 so the height difference is essentially canceled out...you'd expect us to look somewhat similar but we didn't. He was more compact and seems more muscular while I look a bit lighter weight-wise. In other words, weight doesn't mean all that much because everyone is built differently.

Moral of the story: have sex and be merry with people that turn you on..whether the woman weighs 95 lbs or 295 lbs. If you don't like your fellow man's selection...don't worry because you don't have to be with her.
