Well, my man, my hometown team is playing, so i gotta show some love. It pains me obviously to part the Lakers, but the Heat are gunning this year. They've got their eye on that #5 spot, so they're playing their asses. Btw, after the Cavs' comfortable win against Boston last week, it is now certain that the Cavs are not to be fucked with. Now I'm not going to make any predictions - how well have I done with that this year! - but perhaps that Finals' repeat might not go on as smoothly as everyone hopes. In all honesty, the Cavs are on a roll and Lebron is making a strong case for MVP. He's got the stats and records on his side, and even though things might get tough, they should be able to hang in there, seeing as its the East. If the Cavs can somehow compete with Boston and seal the homecourt advantage, they just might return to June once again.
That shot Kobe made tonight against Houston was fucking clutch! Lebron's line: 30 points (9-15 FG), 11 rebounds, 10 assists, 3 steals and 1 block. DAMN!
Damn, Lakers have been having so many close calls this season. Can't really complain though. A win's a win, and that just makes the season more exciting. Haven't really been this interestied in basketball since 7th grade.
^^ You're right. Lebron is a beast on the court. Lakers are going to war again, tonight, against the San Antonio Spurs. Hopefully its not a close call win, again. We need to clench more wins and utilize our other players more often. I understand Kobe wants to get his but its important the other guys are major factors in our success. I was happy to see Odom back on the court and I'm looking forward to Farmar and Walton returning.
So we lost last night by 1. D. Fish blew it on the last play leaving Mason open. We need to get our shit together and seal the win tonight against the might Magic. Orlando scored a record-high 23 3 pointers on Wednesday night. Not a good sign for what we may face this evening. LA all the way and I'm confident we will win tonight at home. :smt029
I had no idea how important Delonte West was to Cleveland, until he went down with the injury and didn't return. They weren't the same without him. He'll be out for about 2 weeks from what i'm hearing, so it'll be interesting to see if Cleveland can hang onto the top spot in the east despite so many injuries. The Bulls aren't a great team, but they definitely have pieces for the future. Tyrus Thomas is the first player i've seen to actually somewhat stop LeBron James. He's not as powerful as James, but he is just about as athletic, so maybe that's the reason why he was able to limit him so much. And Derrick Rose....what can you say about that kid. He's making me into a Bulls fan again (yes, i would be considered a bandwagoner). I think the magic are gonna beat the Lakers tomorrow, and i think the Hornets are gonna drop the Cavaliers. We shall see!
I think the Cavs' schedule for the next week or two will determine whether they're contenders or pretenders. They have injuries to key players (as do the Lakers) and it will be interesting to see whether Lebron can solidify his MVP credentials. The same applies to Kobe and the Lakers. Farmar, Walton and Fisher are injured and so far, they've been looking sloppy, especially on the defensive end. They're not making stops on defense as they did earlier in the season. They have proven that they can score, but they are showing the weaknesses that got exposed in the Finals against the Celtics. The big men are getting into too much foul trouble, and they arent executing well. If they want that crucial home court advantage, then they would have to improve their play, especially against the bigwigs of the West.
And will you actually show up and admit that you were wrong if they do? I hope you don't do like you did in the finals, and disappear after the Lakers got handled by the Celtics.
Hey, hey hey. Don't be dissin my Lakes. As for losing to Orlando tonight, well, we'll just see about that. I call a Laker win tonight.
See, you are the kind of laker fan that i respect SoCal. You think the lakers will win, and there's nothing wrong with that whatsoever. But Satyricon is the biggest laker homer i've ever seen. If you pick against the Lakers, he'll hurl insults at you. And if your picks turn out to be correct (like mine were last season) he'll just disappear and never say anything else.
I'm right here, good pick and good game from the Magic. Unlike some people who won't pick a team and be faithful to it, I don't go around like a little bitch and pick teams to bandwagon on just because I want them to beat the team(s) I don't like.
LOL....you're absolutely correct about that! As far as the NBA is concerned, i have always been, and always will be a bandwagoner. Whatever teams my favorite players play for, i will root for them. The NBA promotes individualism, and i'm not afraid to admit that i bought right into that. If there's a player that i like, i'll root for him and his team. Three of my favorite players are on the Celtics right now, which is why i'm currently a C's fan. I'm also a Sun's fan because Shaq is my second favorite player of all-time behind Michael Jordan, and i'll follow him to any team he goes to. If there's a player that i hate, i'll root against him and his team. As far as the NFL is concerned, i'm a Bears fan and a Bears fan only. I have been all my life, and won't be riding the bandwagon of any other team. Why? Because the NFL promotes team play more than the NBA does, and so i have a greater sense of pride supporting my "team." Anyway, i wonder if you would be such a great "fan" if your team was the Oklahoma City Thunder instead of the Los Angeles Lakers. You call me out for being a bandwagoner, but it's pretty darn easy to stick to an NBA team that has like 15 championships and is always in contention. By the way, i really appreciate you showing back up and getting your plate of crow. You talked smack and ran after last seasons finals, but it feels good for you to come back in here and actually admit that you were wrong for once.
At least you admit it man. Kings fans down here don't like to be called bandwagoners. In like 03 when Detroit was the shit, everybody was a Piston's fan and a Rasheed Walace fan, when they didn't know shit about him when he was back in Portland. Then they were Cavs fans, then Suns fans, then Celtics fans. Pretty much any team that was a threat to the Lakers in the post season.
I expected for us to dominate, coming off two losses and them not having Ilgauskus or Delonte West. Other than the Spurs, we don't face good competition for the rest of the month.
