So much for the Dallas "dynasty" then haha ....... In all seriousness, Jerry Jones needs to stop picking his dudes as though he's playing fantasy football. P.S. Good assessment, Malik. I totally agree with the ranking of the league's QBs. The only dark spot i have is with Philip Rivers in third tier. I dunno, based on what he's done this season, he deserves to move up a class. Just my humble opinion.
This ain't the 90s anymore. The "Dallas Dynasty" is gone and forgotten. They haven't even won a playoff game in like 12 years.
listen to the hatas.....true blue fan starts a thread repping his squad and the hatas show up.:smt093 at least Wade has some job security ...can't say the same for mangini, Crennal and that fool in Detroit ( I really believe any collegiate team in the BCS top 5 could have beaten the Lions.)....there should be other firings( redskins, bengals, KC chiefs...sorry Herman, etc.) all and all, that shit was embarassing...had me on the verge of tears.
Agree with Tier 1...no argument. As for Tier 2, Ben Roethlisberger and Eli Manning belong there..perfect fit. Favre was a Tier 1 QB in the 90's and perhaps Tier 2 in late 90's and early 00's...but now he's a Tier 3...the only reason he'd be a Tier 2 is because of his Superbowl win in '96. Favre's gunslinging style probably cost the Packers at least one ring and may have kept the NY Jets out of the playoffs this year. McNabb is an enigma in that he hasn't won anything and yet the Eagles have never put much around him and yet he succeeds. Plus they pass the ball so much...if they'd ever focus on running the ball..they'd have more balance and may have won a Superbowl when they had the chance. Of course the flip side to that argument is that in those 4 NFC title game appearances...many thought they had the better team in at least 2 of those games...yet they only advanced once...and for all those wins and domination of the NFC East...they've got nothing to show for it. The Redskins, Giants and Eagles dominated the NFC East in the 80's up until 1991...in that time...the 'Skins won 3 superbowls and the Giants won two. from 1992-'99...Dallas dominated and won three rings...the Eagles have been the most dominant since 2000 yet have nothing to show for it...all under McNabb's watch.
Take it from T-New: A 'coward' is tearing the Dallas Cowboys apart By JENNIFER FLOYD ENGEL IRVING -- Walking around this Cowboys locker room Monday, after another season abruptly ended in failure, I was struck by how deeply divided this team actually is. The lack of chemistry is glaringly obvious in how players talk about one another. A lack of respect seems to exist for many Cowboy coaches as well. Everybody is always blaming somebody. And deep fissures remain amongst Dallas biggest names, personalities, and players with Wade Phillips basically intimating that he had to have a come-to-Jesus intervention with Jason Witten, T.O. and Tony Romo before Philly. Read More... The Cowboys are extremely dysfunctional...to say the least
the dynasty continues..... My 'Boys aren't even in the playoffs abd look at the press they're still getting.... That was the biggets story in sports this weekend..bigger than the Lions losing. when I say Dynasty ...I mean drama... soap opera if you will.
Sorry Malik...I would put Big Ben and McNabb as 3rd tier based on performance...including Favre. Ben is so concussion prone....McNabb and Favre can be very uneven at times....this is based on performance not rings.
James attacked fan? The News Bradie James allegedly attacked a disgruntled fan Monday outside the Cowboys' Valley Ranch training complex, according to the Star-Telegram. Our View Alan Lowe paraded up and down Cowboys Parkway wearing a sign that read "The Cowboys have no heart" on the front and "Wade Phillips is a embarrassment to the Star on the back." He claims James attacked him when he refused to remove the sign. James returned to the Cowboys' complex and re-gifted a pair of Oakley sunglasses to Lowe, which were reportedly broken in the scuffle. James apologized and shook Lowe's hand and he did not file a police report. Adams and Anderson get into a fight The News The Dallas Morning News reports that Flozell Adams got into a fight with fullback Deon Anderson. Anderson reportedly joked about it later on Monday. Our View The chemistry in the Cowboys locker room was nothing but explosive all season long, so another scuffle should come as little surprise to anyone. I'm a Cowboys fan and I think this shyt is embarrassing !!!
As Malik licks his chops and rubs his hands in angst.... TheChosenOne TCO your quote is a testament to how good McNabb is with just Westbrook really. It's not his fault that management never surrounded him with more than Westbrook except for when they got Owens then look how far they went until Owens does what he does, wears out his welcome. McNabb has HOF numbers ALREADY. You don't think he's a Tier 2 QB? As for Farve although he not what he once was he also has a ring, HOF numbers. His production dropped off quite a bit the last few games but word on the street is his shoulder is torn and he needs rest. I don't think he's out of place @ Tier 2, do you? Shion I am not the biggest Big Ben fan but his bling on his finger keeps him out of Tier 2 with QB's that sport zero bling. Say what you will, the year they won the whole shebang, he got it done and he's getting it done now. Same thing with Farve. You gotta give me a better argument than what you posted playboy, can you?
At his best...he's borderline Tier 1 but this is an argument of "what-ifs." What if Jim Kelly had won a superbowl? What if Jimmy Johnson and Jerry Jones had worked it out back in 1994? What if the Cowboys had drafted Randy Moss as many thought they should in 1998? What if John Elway had more around him during the 80's when he took 3 undermanned teams to the SB? What if the Indianapolis Colts had a better defense from 1999-2005? What if Drew Bledsoe didn't injure himself during the 2001 season? What if Trent Green didn't go down injured during the 1999 pre-season? What if McNabb had a better cast? McNabb could indeed pull an Elway and end up winning a ring before he's done...it wouldn't shock me one bit. I hate Philly with a passion and yet I've always admired him because he's done a good job representing black QB's. His reluctance to scramble despite his good athleticism and massive physique shows his commitment to being known as a great pocket passer and not some one-hit "running qb" - a label many black qb's get tagged on to them. Philly has had some good teams and it's surprising that there are 11 Vince Lombardi Trophies in the NFC East and yet the Iggles have none...I don't know that I want Philly to win one...but I'd definitely like to see McNabb win one..as much as it hurts to type that. As for him being a HOF candidate...McNabb as it stands right now isn't much different from the Cowboys' Danny White. Danny White's numbers as a passer (in many, many categories) eclipse (by a reasonable amount) Troy Aikman's, Roger Staubach's and Don Meredith's stats. White went to 3 straight NFC Championship games...and if it wasn't for a miraculous catch by Dwight Clark at Candlestick Park in January of 1982...Dallas likely goes on to beat Cincinnati in Superbowl XVI in Detroit. I don't see much difference...as great as Danny White was...I doubt he'll make the HOF...McNabb needs a ring to ensure his enshrinement...he might get in anyway..but not first ballot without a ring. HOF is no given...only two members of the All-Decade Team of the 70's are NOT in the HOF....and they would be two of the greatest Cowboys ever...Drew Pearson and Cliff Harris.
