I think I have...she's wonderful...neither one of us would say that we are each other's "ideal" in looks...but it's pretty good on that front...as the physical attraction is strong...and we have chemistry...and that is driven by things that can't be controlled. It just works!

I lived with a man who had one leg for almost 10 years. I honestly never noticed anything until I saw him naked. He had lost his leg right up to his hip in a plane crash. After I knew, then I noticed his limp and the strap around his waist (for his prosthetic). It never was an issue for me.

We traveled a lot together and he even learned to scuba so he could do it with me.

You see, I know a lot of girls who will date men who are not "their idea" but end up really in love because it isn't the looks that really matter to a lot of us, it's all the other stuff you mention, and the way the guy treats her that counts. But in the end she actually begins to think he's better looking as her heart falls in love, don't ask me how, but it really does happen.

I tend not to trust a really good looking guy, it's like he thinks he can get anything because he looks good, and he may be a lot more trouble than he's worth. I'd much rather date a guy like you who is wise, and genuine, and absolutely real than some guy who fakes it though life cuz he looks good.

That's what is most important. I think all of us tend to question a lot of what we shouldn't and in turn take for granted what we have. Just enjoy it for what it is, while we have it without asking why or whatever else is what we all should do. Wishing you continued happiness !!!

    Hi all ,
    Thanks for sharing,Chosen One.

Your post deeply moved me in that I am sharing with you these moments
    and share compassion with you.

    I'm with you, brotha' friend.

About, good looking, me too became the Beast, in late 2000, november 2000.
I had an accident which disfigured me...
Physically I'm back at 70 to 80 per cent .
When I had my accident my tight bones broke , both and my jaws exploded.
    No more smile allowed.
On pics I won't smile unless I want light up the scary aspect around me.

People won't need to look at a scary movie with the horrible creature starring in I'm there just before they really eyes.

It's what it look likes when I smile.

Anyway I respect people space and choices and won't act to bring nasty feelings memory thought or perception about me.
So I keep cool most of the time and don't tease women. They'll run away.

What I learn was that beauty of the body do not last at all.
It's too shallow. What ever last is conscioussness and that's why most of the time my post are poetry foggy and misty for some too much metaphysic.

I was a person spiritually - oriented before the accident, now I'm V.S.O, i.e a Very Spritually Orientated Person.

This accident taught me Discrimination, a virtue which should be cultivated among men.I'm having my turn. Who would stay with me because of my physical appereance or you walllet or your position on the social ladder?
So things are no more the same.

Here ww are somehow - I'm talking about Abidjan sophisticated and they might give any kind of reason to avoid you , plus my accident.

Hmmm here they're not thaught to survive....That's whatrenders this harder

Anyway like Freddy my friend in France said once , "Who cares?"
So I don't the -- care about this aspect.

I pursue creative goals such as writting ,reading, andI'm willing to learn about more creative arts.

I just want to catch a glimpse on what effect it could have on your lives.

    Thanks Ladies and Gents.

    Good Bye.

Chosen....I've always thought there was something very special about you. I can now see a glimpse of things you have had to deal with at a very young age and how well you have done with the circumstances you have had to face. Thank you for sharing a bit of your story with us. You truly are an inspiration!

Awww...how did it impact his life? How long did it take for him to come to terms with what happened?

Tink, I totally feel the same way. As the heart grows fonder the partner looks better - maybe because we can see their inner divinity? I'd also rather date a man with depth of character, honour and integrity than one for looks.

My grandfather had the same cancer as you did, or similar... I think. Maxillofacial is all I knew it as. He had like, part of his jaw and his cheek bone removed. His face never looked the same but I barely even noticed. I guess if you really care and love someone you don't see these things. I miss him.
I couldn't even tell from your MySpace pics, still look like a handsome guy to me.

    :smt001

Me, yeah I probably would date a guy who was "disfigured". No one is perfect on the outside, me... I have a huge operation scar on my abdomen and stretch marks. I would hope that wouldn't be a deal breaker for a guy with me.

Sad, keep your head up and it is true looks are so overrated they never last, one day you can be a gorgeous model next day in a car accident, in a fire 3rd degree burns all over your body.

Dossou, You are an overcomer, keep it up, men like that get respect from the ladies, and ladies need to respect out men, way more than we need to think they're good looking!

May God send you the Angel you deserve very soon!!:smt059

To me being disfigured is different from being "ugly".
Like... disfigured or not I'm not attracted to someone like Ice T... but T.I, I think I'd still find him attractive even if he was in an accident or whatever.
    I'm weird...
