You're welcome Tinkerbell. I thought it was an interesting story.

Israel has been more than generous to Hamas while being subjected to daily rocket attacks from them. Hamas was told many times to rein the terrorists in. They chose not to. So they have to be taken out. I wish they would get it through their heads that Israel isn't going anywhere. They're not going to destroy it, so forget about it and make peace with them

Yeah, really, and the innocent people dying when israel bombs has no-one but themself the blame, right?

Violence is always wrong. The israel-palestine conflict is an infected wound with no right or wrong anymore. Israel is handling it the completely wrong way.. As long as they are backed up by the US the situation has no solution, it seems.

Exactly. Listen, i am in no way condoning Hamas and their previous actions but whenever this issue comes up, everyone points the finger at anyone but Israel. They have been routinely violating the peace pact and assaulting the Palestinian people, yet the US continues to give them blanket support.

    Unbelievable!

I don't think this has anything to do with the US. I actually think we should be neutral. We shouldn't support or oppose either side. But I'm just speaking as an observer. And I see that Hamas is dead wrong! They are committed to Israel's destruction. They've shown by their actions that they don't want peace. What is Israel supposed to do:smt102?

If I were Israel, I would move on Hamas now and replace their leadership with more moderate elements, because there's never gonna be peace with them in Gaza. They've had their chances, and they blew them

The whole situation is based on empirical meddling. I really do not see how using more empirical means will somehow bring about peace.

Can you for one minute imagine China coming to the US and taking a huge swatch of land for the US gov and handing it over to an Indian tribe who use to own it 2000 years ago? Can you imagine your elderly grandmother and all your family being moved out and going hungry because the overwhelming majority of the natural resources were given to another group of people? Can you imagine this new nation being armed to the teeth by China and then they decide they werent given enough land and take what most of what little you had again? Because that is what GB and subsequently the US have done to the Palestinian people.

The lazy answer most people give is that "those people" have been fighting forever, same as with Africa. Most never stop to look at what has been done to cause the state of crises we have now. If Isitreal wants peace, then they need to stop with their Zionist bullshit. They need to get out of disputed territories and they need to stop starving people whos land was stolen from them.

It literally turns my stomach the way people throw around the label terrorist when they want to talk about Muslims. Why are Palestinians terrorists and Isrealis not?

    Such discussions are so pointless...

Muslims will support Muslims, Jews will support Jews, and everyone in between can choose. I have a Jewish grandmother and a Muslim ex-husband... I think I'm taking the Jews' side.

My great aunt survived the Holocaust in Poland. She lost her husband and two children, but herself she became a partisan, and ended up surviving. She continued living in Poland until she passed in the nineties.

In 1967 she went to visit her family in Israel, and got there exactly at the time of the 7-day war. She went back to Poland and said, I've seen enough war, I don't want to see it again.

War is terrible, and let those who initiate and wage wars, be cursed. Muslims AND Jews included.

If the Allies felt that way during WWII you would be speaking German, not Swedish.

It all goes back to 1948 when the USA and the Europeans tried to dispose of their own guilt by forcefully taking territory which was used to create the nation of Israel. This dispersed the Palestinians in the process and the Arab world has never forgotten. I'm not justifying terrorist attacks or any such thing and I do think Israel has a right to defnd itself. But Israel is a nation with a shady history of its own and it has used the money and the power of America to help keep its military advantage in the Middle East.

If countires like Syria and Iran would simply recognize Israel's right to exist and end thier pledge to eliminate them from the face of the earth, that would be a start.

The reason the territories are occupied is because Israel's Arab neighbors launched military offensives in 1968 and 1973 in an attempt to exterminate them. Is self-defense, Israel fought and pushed the Arab armies back into their own countries and occupied the land which was fought on as a defensive measure, and requests to be allowed to live in peace.

The US totally supports Israel and that will not change regardless of who is sitting in the White House.

So do a lot of Europeans, and other foreigners, but then they want to tell us how to run our government here. Funny how they want us to let terrorists run the world till they get attacked, then they'll all be calling for help real quick!

Well, sarcasm or not, you can't argue with GOD, now can you!

I agree, one of my dearest friends was 5 years old in a concentration camp because she's Jewish, (it was a real miracle that they were released in the middle of the night by a guard), she then had to be hid for a long time, and she lost her whole family accept for a sister that survived with her.
    AMEN, and Thank God!!

I would tap both Mosk and Sir Nose's rep but it says I have given out too much lately!

All Palestinians are not terrorists, but when a man or woman (or worse, a coerced kid) walks into into a pizza parlor or onto a city bus with a bomb strapped to his chest with the intent to kill innocent civilians, that is terrorism.

When the legitimate military of a democracy wages a campaign of self-defense against terrorists who hide amongst civilians and inflict unintentional and unavoidable collateral damage, that is not terrorism.
