Black teacher fired for using the "N" word

This happened earlier this month in a town 45 mins from where I live. What do you think of the teacher's defense? I spoke with a teacher I work with and she said we wouldn't have any football coaches left if they fired every black teacher for using the word.

Yeah that was what I was saying in Tinkerbell's other thread. Yes there's a difference whether its said with an "a" at the end or "er" (that one still baffles me as its still the same word) but it also depends who says it. Within the black community it has seemed to be ok to use the word. On one level I don't get it but on the other hand its like start using the word to take the original meaning out of it. Personally, I don't think it should be used by any person of any color. It cuts through me like a knife when I hear it.
