My grades are on my school's website, but I'm too scared to check them. I know it's all bad. I think I did pretty good on my humanities final, since half of it was about Huck Finn and Slaughterhouse 5, which where pretty good books. Sociology, coulda went either way. I took 2 Sociology tests. One was a makeup from earlier this semester, which I think was on the shittier side of the grade scale. Philosophy..............let's just say it was the biggest class sign up mistake I have ever made.

Man I know how that is. I always dread looking at my grades online. It's like having to go to the dentist

Crazy night last night. My friends decided it was time to celebrate the end of the quarter and my homeboy moving into his new apartment, so we went to Books a million downtown (I love going downtown, haven't been much!), then to a liquor store (got a biiiiiiig bottle of vodka) then to the movies, then to wal-mart, then back home...and I forgot to eat while we were out (cept a couple bites of my homeboy's popcorn) and drinking on an empty stomach is never a good idea. ugh. And I drank a lot. So I ended up sooooo sick (which is why I usually don't drink on an empty stomach nor drink that much. I hate getting sick from drinking, so I generally pace myself much better). I fell asleep in the bathroom. Apparently a couple of my friends carried me to bed *L*

So today, no suprise, I'm hungover like hell. ugh.

    I'M GOING HOME TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm quite excited. Haven't seen my family since July. Mom still doesn't know I'm coming!!!! I'm amazed, I figured someone would have snitched by now. Everyone but my immediate family knows about my trip. *L*

My mom is going to be so happy on Wednesday when I show up :D I'm staying with my cousin and her husband tomorrow night when I get in, and then her sister and her sister's husband the next night. One lives in Ohio, the other in WV closer to my home town. We gotta keep me away from my town til Christmas Eve, cause it's so small -someone- would recognize me and call my mom and ask her when I came in to visit and why she hadn't told anyone *L*

Eeee! I was nervous until a few minutes ago. I'd lost my ID a few months ago, and I thought it was gone forever, but it was actually in the bottom of my closet. I'd forgotten about needing it to get on the plane until just a couple days ago, and I was like "Oh shit. This could put a damper on my Christmas plans". But it's all gravy now!

    So excited!!!!!!! Oh yes.

Oh, and I'm going to church tonight. Haven't been since...hmmm. August 07, I believe. This should be interesting.

I've spent the last few days trying to convince myself that it was fireworks I heard from outside, hoping the riots in my area wasn't that bad.

I was wrong. I'm in the richer parts of my neighbourhood (eh, well, 46% of the people who live here work full time. And thats the richer parts. Now imagine the not so rich parts.. ) so the riots aren't around here, but I haven't dared to go up there and check for myself (I don't want to get shot, thank you very much) and now I read the newspaper about it, and my hunch was right. It was bombs.
They are trying to burn that place down. Again.
Thank god they've started to calm down now.. The police got reinforcements from the other cities (there has been mini-buses filled with police driving around here all over the place, I'm glad they are here. They can barely get into the area, the kids throw stones and bombs at their cars) and the muslim community leaders have been helping out to get the kids who are rioting to stop.
It's scary, to have all those angry people so close by. I would like to not die in a bombing please.
Nobody has been hurt yet I think, except for a few being beaten up, but still. You never know.

    Bombs, guns, molotov cocktails.. yiish.

Have just polished off half a packet of Dutch gingerbread, as I'm in avoidance mode from packing my things- I'm moving after Christmas.

Just got back from a little while in Africa and spend most of each day wishing I was back there..meh..soon.

Moving in with my boyfriend proper...:smt101 It's a natural progression in our relationship and doesn't make much sense to keep separate houses since we travel about so much together.. but still.. I'm scared because I'm independent, and have presided feistily over my one bedroom little fifedom for quite some time.

NO good scylla.. play some good music.. shut your windows and crack open a good book.

Yeah, thats what I've done for a couple of days now... it's more when you have to go outside it gets scary. But I sleep like a baby so i'm fine.. I even slept through the earthquake last week (not a big one really, but biggest here for a while. 4.7 on the richter scale)

Well it wasn't Christmas that made me go, I just finally found a church that appeals to me. It's one of those "inter-faith" places. From what I can tell everyone who goes there is Christian, but they don't care if you're not. Seems like a decent place. Very, very small when it comes to the people who go there, but that meant I got to meet everyone. It was pretty nice, though I was uncomfortable. I feel out of place at church, because everyone but me is all praying and stuff, and I feel weird when I pray anywhere but home. Ah well. I plan on going back once I get back to Texas. If nothing else because I want to do some volunteer work, and I know the people there could point me in the right direction.
