Hip hop music

How many women here love hip hop music? It always gets me dancing!

 

I used to like it when the music was good and I was young. Now it leaves me indifferent.

 

Not a women but hiphop is blah boring


Reggae/dancehall is where it's at

Obviously, I'm not a woman, but what the hell?

I don't really listen to hip-hop, even though I know (or have heard of) most of the hip-hop artists. I used to listen to it when I was younger, like 14 or so. But then I got into rock and metal. I find that metal fits me perfectly. It speaks to me where rap/hip-hop does not. I love the loud, distorted guitars and the vocals. I'm pretty used to being the only black dude at the metal concerts lol, but it's my music. I love head-banging and I still mosh from time to time, although not like I use to

I may listen to some rap and hip-hop from time to time. but metal's the best :rock:

 

Also not a womanbut answering anyway. Rap got too simple and formulaic for me. Money, cash and cars... Rinse; repeat and throw some shit about superman in for good measure. I found it to be glorification of hood mentality to samples of good music from years past.

 

I like it ok. When I'm at home, I'm listening to Janis Joplin (got her greatest hits album from a friend back in high school, loved her ever since), Journey, Bryan Adams, AC/DC, lots of 80's slow music (I'm a sap)! I like a variety.

 

I like hip hop music anything that gets you dancing is awesome.

 

Even though I'm not a woman, I'll respond as well. I only listen to the old school hip-hop, the likes of Arrested Development, Hammer, Kurtis Blow, these artists who don't celebrate haterade toward people of their own ethnic background and don't diss others who are involved in homosexuality and law enforcement as well as women. Hip-hop for the past dozen or so years has been nothing but being hateful toward these very same groups I mentioned.

Music wise, I'll listen to everything else but country.

 

I listen to some hiphop, but more spoken word-stuff, like sage francis and stuff like that. Saul williams, so on.

reggaeton is garbage because I can't understand it.

Naugthy By Nature summarize my deepest thoughts about hip hop.
Though I 'm not a woman Hip hop had this exeptional potential to transform and discipline myself.

I did not grow up in the hood but I 'm somebody who don't like to be ruled or dominated.

Since I was the only Son of my Mama and had two over protective sometimes aggresive but basically and above all this lovely sisters.
We're only three children in the family.
When Mama died in early 2008 Hip hop helped me stand on my own feet.
Hip hop music was a way to " kick in it", because hip hop had strong and creative rythm

It Hip Hop- transformed violence I had within and turned it into a creative process .

That why I love somtimes freestyling.
I do it in french thinking about the famous M.C SOLAAR .
Of coursqe the classic Paid in Full of Eric B and Rakim, for those who know.

hip hop and RnB are the only kind of music I listen to, besides gospels and arabic music. I think that lyrics most of time suck, but It makes me dance and I loooove dancing. I just love the rythms, especially when they r contaminated.

 

Careful heads don't really know what hip hop swag is..

I've always liked rap and hip hop. But my iPod is a smorgasbord of all different kinds of music.
