Is it me...or does it seem that WW fall for more masculine type men whereas BW fall for more pretty-boys?

Being dark can hurt you with some BW and some LW but if you find a WW that is into BM at all...they seem to be more inclined to go to the dark brothas. That's not to say all WW like darker men but if you ask black women to name their top-5 black men and ask WW to name their top-5 black men...I'm guessing there will be more dark brothas on the WW's list.

Of course being a light dude isn't necessarily the best. In the 80's (a bit before my time) being light was considered "in" (or so I've been told). We are no longer in the age of the "pretty" man but instead the "manly man." Chris Brown is trying to bring it back...but dark is considered more masculine...and it seems that is the name of the game.

Look at it this way: Think about all the really, really, really dark brothas you know (darker than me..and that is pretty dark according to DH..LOL!)..how often are they with a BW and how often are they with a WW? I'm not saying that more of them are with WW...but I bet the proportion of these BM with WW is much higher than that of lighter men with WW.

Personally I like more masculine type men .. broad shouldered, muscley, not too built though; just strong looking etc etc. I don't think lighter or darker has to do with masculinity though. A darker man can be less masculine than a lighter one.

I must say that just because I prefer darker men its not like I'll rule a man out if he's lighter skinned. It all depends on the man and all the other elements involved. But if I see a fine dark man ... I start salivating; yum. Its the gleam of the skin, just something about it and every other feature; plus I'm pale skinned so the contrast I find super hot and erotic.

I think you are in the majority. The WW I`ve met seem to have a preference for dark skinned BM. :smt038

Congrats. You have pointed out one of the many double standards that exist in this world.

Dark black, light black, medium black... whatever kind of black, it's all the same to me really.

I'm really attracted to light blacks (mixed race usually) like JLS from X Factor this year, but I'm also attracted to dark blacks like Akon. I guess I'm not really that fussy. They all get love from me.

...it was a jet-black water goblet, so I think even SEAL would have looked light in comparison

Thank you. That avatar you had up before this one was beautiful. It was a very glamorous photo of you.

My thoughts exactly. I get the impression men are generally far more discriminating when it comes to skintone in women.

I like dark skin. It's beautiful.

I personally find all skin tones to be beautiful in their own way, but I can't deny I very much like really dark skin.

Skin is skin. Doesn't really matter if other people like what you got. You the one who needs to love it. I love mine, even all of my annoying freckles (and there are a -lot- of those. Ask Chosen, he's seen them). I love it even though the sunlight and I don't get along very well, and I turn pink with little effort. But I also love the color pink, so it's ok. I also have a very nice natural blush on my cheeks.

Besides, my body doubles as a big connect the dot puzzle, s'all good!

Fuck the haters. Love your skin, it's the only one you got. Doesn't matter if the majority of whatever group of women prefer your skin or not, there are still plenty of women who will. There are 6 billion people in the world, and millions of people who love each and every skin tone. If you concentrate on the people who dislike it, it will make you sad. So think about the people who -love it- instead.

I fell in love with my man who was the darkest among my students.
I like men who are really dark but in the end the heart counts and the heart has no color.

My man is dark too. I'm white with an olive complexion, most take me for Italian (I'm not), and I have blue eyes. I wasn't looking at my boyfriend's color when we met. What caught my attention was his intelligence. He's scary smart.
