I went to a sushi bar once with friends and we had a blond waitress. She was complaining that the Asian waitresses got more attention and tips than she did. I joked that as an oppressed minority, she should contact the NAACP.

My grandfather almost married a Korean woman when he served in the Korean war. But he ended up marrying my grandmother instead.

You're definitely the most racist person I know, and that's saying a lot!

I actually got all curious of what sort of stuff people avoid saying.. and curse you all, you got stuck on koreans.. :(

I'd be more threatened if he bought a PS3 actually, since then I'd NEVER see him again.

I figure you mean from the guys, but hell...I seem to censor myself more in general around white people. Especially when it comes to racial issues. It's mostly a reflex action with me, though, thanks to the mindset of the people in the town where I grew up. I know the people here are generally accepting of diversity, but I grew up yelling at racists for being stupid, so it's kinda what I'm used to dealing with when it comes to white people, so I keep quiet about more things. I find it easier to talk openly about race with people who aren't white, so I leave those discussions to the rest of the rainbow for the most part, unless I know the white person in question is cool. Then anything goes as far as conversation.

I also don't talk about politics around white people often, either. It usually doesn't turn out pretty. :D

Why don't they split the room into tall and short or men and women or blue eyes and brown eyes? It's all so arbitrary to me. I've read an article put together by geneticists, anthropologists and sociologists regarding race and the only real meaningful difference was in culture, not genes. They concluded that there might be in fact one race: human. I thought that was a refreshing take on this - keep in mind that's my opinion. :D

There's misconceptions all around, lol. I think it's funny how you know something bad is coming when it's qualified with "we grew up hearing this, but don't believe it...."

    Interesting experiment.

Why are so many republicans white???

    ..like, REALLY white.

    Aryan white. (blonde, blue, etc)

I know this question is more of a "stereotype" but it is so consistent sometimes it deserves the stereotype.

have you ever imagined what the world would be like if it were dominated (businesses/politics/armies/etc) by "darker featured" people and their empires?

Ha! This is a good one. I often wonder the same thing.
Or, how would you/we feel if we were living in Africa, or India or Asia....and were a minority? How would things be different?

The same shit that goes on in any country regardless of the color of the population....just read the news.

Every country has the same problems: religion, taxes, politics, and unemployment, class distinction.

The way Americans criticise each other, Korerans,Germans,Turks talk about themselves in the same fashion.

There are assholes in every country.

Ladiesmanchris is Nigerian, he can probably shed some light on the white Africans.

    Shion,

I don't doubt it at all....I'm sure things are the same everywhere - just with different people, different cultures. It would be interesting to be a minority for a while is all I'm saying. It would be interesting how that would impact on me/other white people/etc.

I also wonder how it would feel to be a native of a country. IE - to be white in Europe, I think, is different to being white in America or Australia or NZ or any other number of colonised countries. Maybe it's just me...but I think about that a lot.

And, furthermore, the thing I would like to say to a lot of white people is...

shut the F*%& up, stop moaning about everything and worrying about this, that and the other and just lighten up. White people, to me, are overly analytical, worriers who (as a whole) see the cup half empty. Stop looking for the bad in everything, because more often than not, you find what you're looking for.

Oh, and to white women. (or all women)....equality doesn't mean having your cake and eating it too....if you get equality, you must also expect to lose some things. Don't expect a man to be treating you like a queen and then doing all the "women's work". That's not equality...If you want to be treated equally, act equal. Too many women run around expecting to be treated like gold and then some.

    Exactly what I meant.

Being a minority and a slave traded society.

Experiencing the effects of racial superiority.

Living during segregation period of the U.S.

No book nor movie can completely depict that experience. (although, spike lee does a good job)
