Kanye's either a hit or a miss with me.
He does produce some wack beats but some good ones too. I like sampling too, I remember on Nick Cannons WIld N Out he got dissed for his samples though...

One of my favourite songs he produced is Get By by Talib Kweli :prayer:

HA!!!! Damn. He got Kayne's ass. Ain't nothing wrong with sampling though, being the backbone of hip-hop production and all. Kanye hella clowned kat williams though. And the dude who clowned him on his height, DAMN!!!!!! Hella funny.

Sucks when they have to get a racial though. Jackasses.

I gave that track a second listen and I actually liked it better after the second listen.

Lol yeah, I always thought Wild N Out was funny...
I'm just watchin it on youtube just now. Best ones were probs Snoop Dogg and Talib.

On this one I feel bad for Redman when they say "only reason we got you is cause we couldn't get meth" :(

I'm like that with a lot of Kanye songs/songs produced by him... I hated his new album but after a few listens it's pretty good in my opinion.

Yeah, sucks when they get all racial. Usually either directed at the indian lady or the white guys. Funny though, I guess.

that's the snoop one.

Aww that's fucked up how they get Red like that. I don't wanna watch that one. Funny thing is, Red will always have more respect in hip-hop than any of the people on that show. I don't even think nick cannon has respect as a rapper among the lil chillens who watch nickelodeon. Sad thing is that if a the white dude or hindu chick would said some black joke, all hell would break loose.

I read something a dude said on another site that Kanye's new album was "a bunch of whining" n' shit, but this was from a person who only listens to bay area mob music. One of the few Kanye productions I like is Overnight Celebrity. Aside from the high pitch sample(I HATE high pitched voice sampling in songs, why do people do that?), but everything else is sick. I used to hate it because my friend would play that song everyday in my computer apps class back in 9th grade.

Overnight Celebrity is good but I prefer Z-Ro and Trae's sample of that song in In My City. It is a lot of whining, it's all about him being lonely and heartbroken but there's some okay songs on it. It's just a new thing for Ye compared to his other stuff, he doesn't even rap on the thing at all. Just sings with his vocoder T-Pain style. Yeah Nick's rap career never really took off at all. I have only heard two songs by him Dime Piece :)roll:) and Can I Live. I like Can I Live cause it's the exact situation I was in in the song, it deals with abortion and how his mother almost aborted him but changed her mind at the last minute. Yeah I felt bad for Red because he actually looked sad. I love Redman, he was really good live with Meth back in April. I was about the only female there who went to see them though and some Indian/Middle Eastern guy started chatting me and my sister up and then he followed us in his car, that was some scary shit cause it was a rough area in Glasgow. Thought I was about to get raped or something, lol. Yep, high pitched voice samples are annoying - eg. I Feel Like Dying - Weezy. Song woulda sucked regardless of the high voice sample though :p

I'll listen to anything as long as it's not metal rock, I feel there is no semblance of intelligence nor artistic value in it(opinion), along with these kiddy rappers. I'm open to anything else from any culture. The Rappin' Duke is better than some of these clowns. I for one miss hip hop with substance, I guess I'm old school. Lupe Fiasco is one of the main stream rappers I personally like.

Sarah - Z ro? You on that H-town shit? Niiiice.

As for my musical interests...mostly hip hop, rap, anything with a good beat since I waste a lot of time dancing around my apartment like a fool. A lot of folk music with good drum beats, too, and some great belly dancing music. When I'm just chillin' it's gonna be Immortal Technique, Mos Def, Jay-z, buncha Southern rap artists (mostly local Houston guys)...and considering the nostalgic mood that the holidays always brings up in me, I've been tossing in a bit more NIN than usual, along with A Perfect Circle, Stone Sour, Hurt, Marilyn Manson, Assemblage 23 and kidneythieves.

I'm also always ready to listen to Mozart. and Jimi Hendrix.

She seems very well rounded.

Especially for someone that isn't from the states.

Sarah, do you listen to XM radio/Sirius Radio at all?

Damn. I don't wanna hear the word xm again. They shut down the Rhyme. Now I can't hear old school hip-hop on there anymore.

Yeah, Houston has some pretty good artists and they get slept on a lot. I love Chamillionaire too, is it bad that I find him attractive? :smt003 UGK are/were great too (RIP Pimp C). I don't like Paul Wall though. Aww I love your music taste, we would have so much fun getting chatted up by dodgy old dudes buying us drinks and listening to some Immortal Technique, Hova and The Mighty Mos Def :D I'm coming over to Houston!

Nope :( Only radio I listen to is Radio 1 Xtra :D It's good. There's a lot of UK Grime/Hip Hop on it as well.

What can I say, I'm just a little hip hop cat

My avatar of Ghostface is a dead give away that I am a huge fan of him and the whole Wu-Tang Clan. The Wu takes up quite a bit of space on MP3 player.

Other hip-hop artist I enjoy are The Roots, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, and Jay-Z just to name a few.

I listen to Sirius at work and in the car.

I have a nice jazz collection as well...ranges from Miles Davis and John Coltrane to Roy Hargrove and Kenny Garrett.

Lately, I have been addicted to Led Zepplin.

Hope this wasn't too wordy.
