No big deal, we'll make certain defensive adjustments and move forward.

2009 NBA Champions, believe it son.

I guess you didn't learn your lesson after last years whipping at the hands of the Boston Celtics did you satyricon?

The Lakers are the deepest team in the league by far, but their defense is still swiss cheese. I don't see them winning against any of the teams from the Eastern Conference.

The West is going to be as strong as it has been for the past 10 years and spank the East's ass in the Finals. Be it the Celts or Cavs, they will fall.

What games have you been watching? The West is as weak as it's ever been this season. Whether it be because of injuries or whatever, the West has been getting their lunch handed to them by the East this year. I would take Cleveland or Boston in a 7 game series against any team coming out of the West.

Didn't catch the game, but if you're up by 17 points and lose by one, you clearly deserve to lose. That's just no excuse. But whatever. Can't win them all.

I would just love to see the Cavs holding up the NBA title trophy in June. It's a long way from now to then though. We have to keep playing well if we wanna get there

Bryant, you're my man and all, but you are wayyy off base on the Cavs/Celts thing. I can understand the Celts' argument - and even that is arguable given the fact that they've lost Posey and have lost of their fire - but the Cavs? What next, you'll be predicting the Chargers will be hoisting the trophy in February?

In all seriousness, the Cavs are no more of contenders than they have been for the past three seasons - and that includes the year they made the Finals. That is because, for all they have done this year, they have defeated only four teams with winning recordings, their defense is average at best and they are a largely inexperienced side. If they are to make it past Boston in the Conference Finals, they will need to do what the also inexperienced Lakers could not do in last year's Finals - outgun the Celts and shut out Paul Pierce - and im not sold yet on the ability of their defense to do just that.

Now i agree in priniciple with you that the West is vastly overrated. After all, it is teams from the Western Conference that fail to even make it past the first round despite a 22 game winning streak, get eliminated by an eight-seeded team a year after making the NBA Finals and fail to beat an opponent that isn't as talented as they are but has more passion. Moreover, here are the records of the top five teams in the Western Conference:

    1. Los Angeles Lakers = 14-2
    2. Denver Nuggets = 13-6
    3. Houston Rockets = 11-7
    4. Portland Trail Blazers = 13-6
    5. Utah Jazz = 12-7
Now take a good look at the Eastern Conference:

    1. Boston Celtics = 17-2
    2. Cleveland Cavaliers = 14-3
    3. Orlando Magic = 13-5
    4. Detroit Pistons = 11-6
    5. Atlanta Hawks = 10-6
Now compared to the West, the gap between the upper echelons and the bottom-feeders isn't a whole gulf. The West might be more fun to watch, but i have yet to be convinced that it is the tougher division.

True, the Celtics did lose Posey, but have you been keeping up with the Celts this year? Their bench is actually, dare to say it, improved. And in what way have they lost their fire, seeing as though they're on a 9 game win streak and have the best record in the league? Considering they have a huge bullseye on their back, and teams are gunning for them every single night, i would say that's pretty impressive for them to have the record that they have at this point. I don't see any fire lost whatsoever.

I honestly don't think it matters that Cleveland hasn't beaten a bunch of teams with winning records. Neither have the Lakers, and neither have the Celtics. You have to play your schedule, and Cleveland is taking care of business. They gave Boston more of a series than the Lakers did, and this season they're actually improved (with the addition of Moe Williams). If Cleveland could take Boston to 7 games and come within a few Paul Pierce field goals of the finals, i'm sure they have just as good a shot this year with the addition of Moe Williams.

We agree here. The West really only has 2 or 3 title contenders, and the East only has 2 or 3 title contenders. I don't see a huge difference between the conferences, and if i had to lay down money on which conference is going to win the championship, i would put my money on the East because of their commitment to the defensive end.

The Lakers better start protecting leads or there will be more close losses. Granted I am criticizing a team playing at a very high level with the fewest losses in the league but if you are up on teams by 20 or more your margin of winning should be between 6-12 points.

True. The Lakers are too deep and too talented to be coming within one Caron Butler 3 of losing to the Wizards. They need to shore up their defense a.s.a.p.

By the way, Malik, the Lakers no longer have the fewest losses in the leauge. They're tied with Boston in the loss column.;)

LA disgusted me last night. My dad told me they were up by 22, and we were happy as hell. Little while later he comes in and tells me they are up by 1 with 12 seconds left. We were like "sorry ass LA". Second time this season they blew a big lead. I actually wanted LA to lose that one last night for fucking up like that.

These Lake Show fellas beter straighten out. First, they lost to sucky ass Indiana and they win by 2 against Washington. What in the world is wrong with them? The Celts have won 11 straight and the Cavs have won 11 straight at home, and the Lakers? Umm, they are on a two-game winning streak.

    Impressive!:smt105

LA got shut down last night. Kobe was disgusting. The kings, or at least Grant Napier and Gary Gerald took this victory too serious though, but LA still got shut down.

Fuck the kings. They never do any major shit, like WINNING A RING(unless you count their Rochester Royals ring back in 1951).:D
