I'm very aware of this too, and that's why I always look at women with a rather mundane look, if eye contact is acheived between her, and myself. I'm probably the last person to ever want to feel like I'm playing myself, when it comes to hitting up women. I prefer to limit my odds of rejection from a woman to nil, even if it costs me potential dates, which I'm sure it does.

So come around a little more often, you never know how it'll work out long term??? I'm still in the evaluation stages...

Well, thank you. You're so very sweet, :smt060 I'll have to call out louder next time. It's good to know you're there!

What a wonderful show of solidarity, however, my good sir, I am far too short for you! (not quite the statuesque beauty that the violet princess is) :smt022 Unless of course you thought a miniature version would work.

Make her ring the cow bells huh, now that's the first time I've heard that discription of "you know what". :smt043 You'll never catch me doing that, before he "makes further advancements". :smt018

How do you manage win hearts like that when you meet her in passing, or have you figured out how to have more time to develop those relationships?

Careful now, I'm only a state away, (In Cali). Oh, did you mean come around here in this forum? lol.
Interesting choice of words there! Now we all know there are exceptions to every rule, so don't be sad. Besides, chemistry rules over stature. ;)
Some people are worth taking a chance on, and for miss right, I guess I wouldn't mind ringing that cow bell. DING!! :)
In passing is fairly rare, but there are signs a woman may give off, that allows me to make a split second decision to approach her, if I feel she's fairly receptive.

We're just staying on topic in the spirit of the title of this thread, "Flirting Differences". Now if you will, let me go receive my lumps in Chicago. :smt021

There should be a whistling smiley, like they have on yahoo messenger. ;)

    Rinnaye...

May I ask - why is it that you have a photo of yourself with a woman if you are in fact single (and possibly looking - I have no idea if you are or are not)? I have noticed different men online who have photos of themselves with a woman when they are single and open to finding someone.

I think most of us see that and think you are with someone.

I would agree that there definitely are those men out there. However....come on now women need to take responsibility for themselves as well. There are those who will be very flirtatious and then suddenly it becomes that a man is such a jerk when he tries to approach (not talking about the married ones)

I've heard that there are those ww who think that they can get with any bm just because they are a ww...of course that is also delusion of grandeur.

The most I would do is make direct eye contact, smile, and say hello...unless there might be some reason to talk about something. Otherwise I smile and say hello and then he either starts the conversation or not.

It's even better when they cut off the woman, but you still see her hair and fingers on his shoulder, or even a side of her face. I saw it on Match.com a lot when I had a profile there.

LOL yes Mosk! I was just going over a search on a dating site and I couldn't believe how many had photos with women in them withOUT any explanation of who the woman was. And yes MANY with the cut off pics where they are all the way over to the side and there are bits and pieces of this cut out person still in the photo.

On HotOrNot.com a lot of people even just scribble out the womans face or draw a square over her on paint. It isn't that hard to get a new picture surely. Or at least edit the picture well.

    Hi KnCA,

First, let me say it's good to see you on the boards. Now to your question...

The reason why I used that avatar is to allow the women in this forum to visually realize that I may be spoken for. From what little I know about the opposite sex, I feel it's probably the best practice to appear unavailable, so as to add a subliminal message of allure, seeing many women want what they can not have. lol.

No seriously though, I used this avatar because it was one of the best pictures taken of me standing in front of The Coliseum in Rome.

But we can't see the Coliseum. We see a HAPPY COUPLE.:D

...and that's why me, and a lot of other black guys will never want to approach a white woman, unless we get mad signals that it's safe to proceed.

Wow, is it that hard to get a new picture taken.

Why? Worst they can say is 'no'. I've never understood why people are so afraid of rejection. Is it a damaged ego thing?

Yes, actually. I would like to take new pictures, but I refuse to take pictures of myself in the bathroom taking a picture of myself taking a picture of myself in the bathroom. That's always seemed a bit tacky for my tastes.

Lol that sounds like the kind of picture I'd take. I've got pictures with exs and stuff I just think the cutting them out thing is bad. I remember when my mum and dad split she cut him out of every single picture .
