As a woman, I was excited, at first, when McCain announced his selection for VP. Then I got to know her through the media, and my excitement was quickly replaced by horror. :lol:

 

Neither do I, so I won't. It is obvious, however, based on your emotionally-driven, vitriolic response that is typical from liberal women that you are offended by everything she stands for as a conservative woman.

This debate will no doubt continue if Governor Palin decides to re-enter presidential politics. I hope she does.

I'm disturbed that ten of millions of Americans after eight years of complete and utter incompetence and corruption from our leaders and at one of the most crucial points in regard history would cast their votes for this thoughtless maladroit to be one 72 year old heartbeat away from the Presidency. I gave an explanation with a good degree of specificity regarding the issues that I and many others who were opposed to Sarah Palin's presence on the McCain ticket took with her, and I provided examples of her complete and utter incapability of even forming a coherent response to very simple questions without a script.

Your response epitomizes the complete and utter bankruptcy of the modern conservative movement when it comes to dealing with the actual issues and putting qualified individuals in place to govern properly. You have no defense whatsoever for the painful truth about Palin's ignorance, inexperience and ineptitude, so you chose to respond to me by repeating your absurd accusations about Liberals being offended by the purported ideals of Conservative womanhood in a post dripping with condescension and faux intellectual superiority.

By the way, if engaging in cheap, empty sloganeering, spewing mean spirited, snaky taunts, and reveling in a state of unabashed know-nothingism are requisites for Conservative women, then, yes, my sensibilities ARE offended by Palin and every other Conservative in her mold.

So do I. If she even gets close to the Republican nomination in four years, the party will implode and lose any real power on the federal level for at least a generation.

I actually agree with you that many of the attacks on her were sexist. And I am a very liberal woman. It did shock me to read and hear other women talking about how she shouldnt be VP because she is a mother.

As much as I hated her politics and didnt want to see her and McCain win, it did my heart good to see her up on stage carrying her child. I personally found it very empowering and beautiful.

 

Gov Palin is such a idiot at time. For example a turkey was being killed as she was doing a interview.

Palin would have been better off if she had expected to receive the nod for VP. It was clear that the decision to pick her was last minute and she had no chance to prepare...and it showed.

If she had come around in a different time (2000 and 2004) I think her appeal would be broader...but the nation is moving in a more progressive (i.e., liberal) direction..slowly..but it's moving. The nation is split amongst middle aged and older voters but younger voters are mostly independent with progressive leanings. Even though she is young she doesn't appeal to the future of this country...maybe the present and the recent past. The generational conservative shift that occurred in 1980 lasted for nearly three decades; Bill Clinton was an exception because he was a southern Democratic centrist....a modified "blue dog" Democrat.

Neither Bobby Jindal nor Sarah Palin can give conservatives a quick fix. The problems come from the core. Holding power for long stretches of time will corrupt you and make you lazy...it happened to the Democrats after they owned the White House in 7 of 9 elections from Franklin Roosevelt through the turbulence of the late 60's and into the 70's. While both people may be strong candidates, the change has to be deeper than a superficial switch aimed at appealing to the same group of people.

Until you convince larger numbers of Latinos, blacks and other groups to join your ranks with regularity...you are basically fighting a losing battle. What has kept the GOP afloat hasn't been the newer generations of voters...losing the 30 and under crowd is not something that they can continue to afford to give away...considering the size of the group (over 70 million).

 

No, they don't like her because she was in the service of a corrupt, morally bankrupt administration.

Any way my standards

1. Has to be a woman.
2. shouldn't be gay
3. Should be over 5'4
4. A high Scool degree or some college
5. Not a smoker
6. Not a heavy drinker
7.NO drugs
8. not a flirter with other people.
9. Single
10. No kids
That's pretty much it for now.
