Come on, I know you guys see it everyday...some 'big boned' or 'fluffy' person getting the salad bar and the diet soda at work...we all know that is a facade b/c it is no where that you are eating like that at home and weigh the amount you weigh right now...You know I thought of this b/c one of my fellow workers (God bless him) must be pushing 350-400 pounds right now and I saw him getting a small plate of a serving of something...then when I walked by his car in the parking lot, I saw an attacked large MacDonald's bag in his front seat...

None of my business whatsoever what someone else eats for lunch. I also don't appreciate a random co-worker hanging over my cubicle while I'm eating and asking me "What did you get?"

I guess it goes to show how others can affect a "fluffy" person's self-esteem. That's really sad, he feels that he has to eat what he likes in hiding so he doesn't feel like people are judging him :smt009

I think it's because she's been here since '05. I've wondered the same thing. I'm not sure if it has to do with number of posts or the length of time since your join date, or something else..?

maybe he simply wants salad sometimes and mcdonalds other times?

I don't really give a rip what someone else eats.

My rep power is only 1 because I've only been on this site for 10 months. It'll increase after a year (I'm assuming that's the case anyway. LOL!)

Your rep power is zero because you're brand spanking new baby!

It's not always a facade. Sometimes, yes..but not always. Now, when you work at a restaurant it's easier to tell who's the faker. The real dieters, regardless of size, usually get the actual healthy salads (Not the ones loaded down with carbs and high fat dressing) along with water, not diet soda or regular soda.

Some people will be large regardless of what they eat, though 350-400lbs isn't usually one of those sizes that is "natural". That's not really "fluffy" or "big boned"...that's obese. Me...I really am big boned, because I'm tall. I don't weigh 300 lbs, either. *L* I also seem naturally predisposed to carrying a little extra weight, because for quite some time I did the working out every day along with eating super healthy food and drinking nothing but water (and every other day or so a cup of coffee as a treat) and I never got super tiny. I lost some weight, and perhaps I could've lost a little more, but mostly I was just replacing fat with muscle so my weight didn't change much. Most of my clothes are really baggy on me now, though. But if you see me eating a salad, chances are I'll be having water with it, and I'm certainly not hiding McDonald's food anywhere. Salads can be quite delicious! I wish I could eat more of them, but being poor makes it harder to eat healthy. *L* And I'm so attached to my coffee...!

Anyway, after the tangent...I don't really understand people who try to make it seem like they're eating healthy when they're not. It's one thing to just want a salad someday, but if you already ate bad stuff it's not going to help to eat good stuff immediately after. It's sad that people feel they have to put up such a front so people won't judge them, but damnit..if you want a burger, just have a burger. If you're really that upset about your weight that you can't eat a burger in front of someone, then you should do something about it. I'm not super skinny, but if I want pizza I don't have any issue eating pizza in front of people! I'll eat whatever the hell I want, and other people be damned!

I understand your concern for his health, as I myself am overweight. Maybe he was full from the contents from that "attacked" McDonalds bag. Maybe he just wanted a freakin' salad. If I was eating a salad, it would be because I wanted it. But I wouldn't hide it.

I know this girl who was as large, if not larger than myself and she said, "I'm not sure why I am overweight. I eat nothing but fruit and salads everyday. Blah, blah, blah." Now, come on, I KNOW why I got this junk on my rear end, and it ain't from eating fruit and salads! That's the kind of crap that gets on my nerves, also.
