I saw it and its a great film. People should watch the episode of the series of the same name that tells more about Frank Lucas.
Very intense, it didn't seem like a 3 hour film at all. I'm not a huge Denzel fan, but he was amazing in this movie. He gets my vote for an Oscar!!
I've been wanting to see it. Still haven't yet. After reading these posts, I'm feeling ever more eager to do so. Thanks everyone ( Sorry BMJ :smt019 )
Russell Crowe and Denzel Washington are obviously the stars of the movie and in my opinion, rescue this from being an afterthought.
lol American Gangster is pretty good. I think you'd like it. I went and got it the week it came out on DVD. I was not disappointed at all :smt023
I watched it bootleg a few days after it came out. It's great! Denzel usually does good movies in my opinion, so most of the time it's pretty easy to assume something with him in it is going to at least be enjoyable. I loved American Gangster, and the soundtrack was great, too.
Lucas was more smarter than Nicky Barnes in gaining more than a quarter of a million dollars. Sadly it took a lot of Black souls to take him to the top.
What were some of your favorite parts/scenes? My mom wants to see it, too. She appreciates Denzel as an actor.
Denzel was good in Training Day. Still one of my favourite movies. Guys tend to like it 'cause of the Eva Mendes bush scene  lol. American Gangster was good though. Common and the RZA were in it I like them. RZA is one of my favourite musicians, a genius. Watch the movie though, it's good.
I never really paid attention to that scene. I forgot all about it. I could have cared less if Eva Mendes was naked or not. Training Day frucking rocked. "I'm the police! King Kong...ain't got nothin...on me!!" :smt038 It really was a good movie. And like another poster said, you should watch the documentaries about Frank Lucas (and Nicky Barnes). They're pretty good as well
I watched Training Day 100000000000 times and I'm sick of it. It was pretty neat to see a different "side of" Denzel. I love Common. The only movie I've seen him in before was "Crazy Eights", I really liked that movie and a lot of the people in it.
