thank u very much! i didn't know that site, i went to check and there is a seller that makes things with cernit, she is italian too.
a lot of ppl told me to put my things on ebay etc, but i didn't have the time to do anything so far. after december i think i will since i need some money. in my town my jewels didn't have any success

I really liked the jewelry (being an aspiring jewelry designer myself). May I ask what medium you used? I wouldn't sell it on Ebay (I thought of that too). Ebay has like 100's of thousands of people on there selling jewelry already. I read about that in a book, "Marketing and Selling Your Handmade Jewelry" by Viki Lareau. If you plan/want to make money off of it, there's this wonderful software you can purchase to help you keep track and calculate everything, I believe it's http://www.jewelrydesignmanager.com and I'm sure you already have supplies and places to get them, but for me http://www.fusionbeads.com is awesome. I hope you could use those. They've been really helpful for me. :-D

 

hey britty, thank u. I use Cernit, wich is a Polymer Clay like Fimo.
It's great because it takes only 10 minutes to cook it in the oven, it doesn't make allergies and it's very resistant. i put a lot of glitters and bling bling on it also, the pic doesn't show well how much the jewels shine.
about the software, i clicked the link, but i think it's not the right one. hope u start makin some money too.
actually i have a friend who makes websites and would be glad to make my site, the problem is that it takes time and i'm not sure it's worth it, and i guess i should pay a lot of taxes. here in italy if u sell something u r supposed to pay taxes for it. if the police caught me selling things online without paying taxes i think i would get a bill. . i don't know about ebay, i think they have some deals or something.

That's amazing! I'd be willing to pay serious money if someone did a picture that good of me. It's so intricite (sp) and his cheekbones look cool. Real talent.

Thanks! I'm super proud of it. I used 4 different types of pencils and two different types of ink pens on it. Probably put about 6 hours total into the drawing. I'd guess. Maybe 7.

PS - since you put the (sp) in there..it's "intricate". Not trying to be pompous, just figured you might wanna know is all!

 

I'd really be interested in that. I'd like one of Jacob and I together and in all the pics we have together one of us looks stupid, lol. He comes back today so I'll get a pic but I'll message you on myspace about it more.

 

Get someone to go to the park with you guys (if there's a day mild enough to, I guess. I'm not sure how cold it is there, but I'm assuming very!) and snap a bunch of shots of you two just being natural. Natural photos are great compared to posed shots, though poses have their own pros as well, of course. Just makes sure of two things for me: 1) there's enough light that I can clearly see you guys, and 2) that the file is large enough that I can zoom in to see details. I like to work from photos of at least 2000 pixels or larger, so I can see everything. That makes it easier on me to get it all right proportionately/get some nice little details in there.

If you really wanted you can send me a bunch of different ones you've already got, and I can rectify the "stupid face" problem. All I need are two separate images of you and him with each of them having one of you looking lovely, and I could just draw the nice smiles and stuff on one single picture, as long as the poses are similar enough.

I could also put you together from two separate images of you individually, if the poses line up.

and I -adore- amy brown's fairies. I found em when I was in high school (god, it seems like so long ago now). I always wanted to buy some posters of her work, but never had the money.

If I've learned one thing about portraits, darlin, it's this: It doesn't matter if it's exactly like the person you're drawing, the important thing is if it looks like them. And that looks like him! If I knew him, I'd be able to tell that was a portrait of him by looking at it. Great job!

If you'd like to get better, I could definitely give you some tips. Drawing is 40 percent talent, 60 percent practice. You've definitely got the talent, babe, all you need is the practice! Just look at my gallery....you can see how much I've improved since I started college last October. I've improved because I've had drawing classes, which forced me to practice a lot more than I'd been doing on my own time. That's all it is.

Some people are born lucky, and have gifts that require little to no practice. For the rest of us, we're born with gifts that are raw. They're like a piece of marble...there's potential for a venus de milo in the marble, but we have to dig away until we find it.

I can give help you learn a few techniques I've discovered through all my practice, if you'd like. I never mind sharing what artistic knowledge I've had the pleasure of learning, I'm not stingy! I could give you my 80 thousand dollar education for free! *L* In all honesty, when it comes to my classes, my teachers don't always teach me very much. In the computer classes they do, but the drawing and painting classes...that's all me. They're just there to assign my projects, grade my work, and give me critique.

Really I'm just paying for my damn degree. *L* Most expensive piece of paper I'll ever own, I tell ya.

You're really good at drawing portraits, both of you. I did that a lot before, but after straying over to the darkside of abstract painting, I've lost the skill I think. Haven't done it for ages. I'm gonna check if I have any art-stuff lying around and I'll show some of my stuff.
