Why is hair such an issue?

Most people look down on wiggers, both black and white.

So then, in the same vein, I should be offended when black women straighten their hair? It's just ridiculous in my opinion. It's hair! It's different on everyone! I've got red hair, but I don't cry and get mad when people dye their hair red. Sheesh.

It's just silly, ya know?

hah, well thank you for noticing, though it's not exactly too recent. The happier pictures you've guys been seeing have all been taken over the past year...the previous ones were mostly while I was married. It wasn't a very good time for me.

But it doesn't hurt that ChosenOne loves making me smile. I think it's a favorite past time of his or something! Boy is constantly sweet talking. He's really something special. :smt054

And it's "cold" here too. Sort of. Cold in the respect that I get to wear a jacket when I go out, though it's just mostly comfortable temperatures. I probably don't even need the jacket except for the nights I'm in class until 10! That's when it gets "cold", though, being from the east coast myself, I really don't think Houston ever gets cold. Just cold in relation to the 100+ temps in the summer. *L*

Chosen told me it actually snows (kinda) in Dallas! I'm somewhat excited to see that, if it happens this winter. I miss snow. It's fun! I make weird snowpeople that freak everyone out. I did one with boobs the size of her head, and a menacing scowl on her "face". That was so entertaining to make.

My little brother: Hey sissy, what are you rolling that snow up for? You already got the snowman made!
Me: ...these are the snowman's snowboobs. She's gonna have H's!!!

 

never really understood the hair thing...and the evil looks that come with it...that'd be like white people hatin' on black people for wearing conks, jheri curls etc. years ago (the issue of black self hatred is another issue entirely) but I don't think whites care much about the state of black hair

 

What the??? Maybe i'm ignorant, but how exactly does a Korean guy have nappy hair? LOL

 

The blacks can't monopolise the urban dress code. It's funny to get all these looks from the black guys, when you walk down the street with your date who just happens to be dressed in baggy pants and a hoody.

Once, when my sis lived in Amsterdam, she braided her hair because she liked that style and all of a sudden she had all these black dudes walking up to her and greeting her, asking if she was a Rasta woman or smth.

disposable heroine.... they r just jelous and scared. white ppl r scared u don't really like being white... black ppl think u want to imitate them... they r just ignorant. my ex african boyfriend's mum embraided my hair like 5 yrs ago. they looked wonderfull but I have too "white" hair lol, do i had to took the fake hairs off after 10 days (and 12 hrs of sufference to make them!!!).
but i must say that besides some white ppl looking me like i was an alien,. black ppl seemed to love my hair. i was doing a stage in a public service for immigrants at the time and they were excited about my hair lol.
Sometimes it happens to me with earrings. I wear very huge earrings that I make by myself (tomorrow i will put a pic of them) or that i buy. And ppl look at me like i'm some kind of animal... big earing s r exotic and u think about black ppl when u see them. Yesterday i was looking for a website where to buy customized bamboo earrings (in italy u can't find them... hip hop culture isn't very popular here) and i casually found a blog of a black girl that said she was offended by white ppl wearing them...
crazy ass ppl in the world.... lol. but u know what, Dante Alighieri once wrote "Non ti curar di loro, ma guarda e passa". Translated: don't u care about what they think, look at them and go on in your way.

I like guys with nappy hair, it's hot and fun to play with, only with permission cause my current guy gets so pissed off sometimes because he spends hours getting his mini-fro thing looking nice, and I go mess it up I hate hate hate when he combs it though because there's like circular black curly hair... EVERYWHERE. Damn it was all over my shower. Like everywhere. I didn't even manage to tidy it up with a broom I needed to vacuum everywhere.

If were talking about guys hair, I think most black guys look the sexiest when they're bald. Sorry, it's not hating the hair, it's just that there's more skin to see that way. Or even just a real close cut on the sides, looks fabulous!

 

No no no, although the bald look is sexy I love some natural hair, afro, dreds or cornrows, some form of hair.

I don't really like straight hair on black guys, like the way Lloyd had it on "Girls Around The World". It looked odd.

Haha, that perm style was never a good look on white men. I've seen pictures of my dad sporting that hair style. It was awful. I felt embarrassed for him.
