    Just a question

I just realized that 4 or the top fortune 500 companies are run by blacks and 3 of them are married to white women.4 including Henry Gates who's wife is white. So what does it matter when the money and power they gather won't be passed down to african americans, but to their mixed kids who I bet go to white schools and live in white neighborhoods and wont Identify with african americans at all......
So my question is to the Black men of the board in particular
Do you feel its necessary for some Black men(wealthy corporate ceo's/business men in particular),and other wealthy, prominent Blacks to remain within their own race?

In all honesty, i'm not gonna bullshit you and act as though i would not want significant wealth and resources to be passed down from black Americans to black Americans. Of course its a contentious point, at least for me. I feel that empowerment is probably the only way, especially in this globalized world of ours, to lift African Americans to the next level.

Having said that, black Americans, just like white Americans, are human beings and are smart enough to make decisions that make them comfortable. If there are black CEOs who choose to marry white women and pass their wealth down to their biracial children, more power to them.

P.S. Who are the black CEOs married to white women? I only know of one, and that is Stanley O'Neal, whose wife (Nancy Garvey) sits on the board of Barnard College.

Wow. the guys that dont want be judged are judging black CEO's.
or am I misunderstanding? I feel that they should be with who makes them happy. Same thing goes black female CEO's or anybody.

    I agree.

Black women have been involved with some weathy white men forever who die and don't will them anything, leave EVERYTHING to there REAL family. Senator Strom Thurman, most racist senator this country has ever produced, didn't leave a thing to his black daughter. He's a poster child for that.

Wealthy black CEO's, black entertainers, black athletes, etc. have all happly married white women. Hey....some white women just got it going on like that which is why some of us brothas want them....BAD !!!

By passed down, you mean inherited. If he's passing it on to his children they will likely be part of the African America community too.

However you fail to realize that all wealthy people pass down their wealth to the working class of whatever color when they purchase goods and services. I am glad they can do it. Do poor African Americas have jobs? Where do you think their jobs come from? Many of them provide goods and services utilized by these fortune 500 companies and their CEO's.

So not only are the black CEO's who married white women doing this, so are all the other rich men and women in America. It's called trickle down economics.

If you want to help the African American community so badly, why don't you start a business of your own, and pass down the wealth.

Chris Rock made a reference to this. He mentioned how it's a myth that black men start looking for white women once they become successful, but he said that the reality is that we wanted white women even when we were broke.

    Don't believe the hype.

It's also a myth that white women only want Black men after they've made it. There's a LOT of broke brothas with white women. :D
