With a little over a month before the election, and all trends are pointing favorably toward Barack...I'm gonna make a prediction. Barack Obama will make history as America's first Black president -- and win by a landslide.

    Any doubters???

I'm not sure if it will be by a landslide, but I think he will win. Remember...there are all those undecided voters that could go either way.

I think I'll have to find another country to move to if he doesn't win. :smt090

    You aren't paying attention....

As soon as Hank Paulson went to Congress asking for 700 Billion dollars, Obama's lead grew... When McCain started his "Granstanding" talking about he would suspend his bid for the White House (which was a LIE) and the bill FAILED in the House, he's been loosing by 5% or more in every poll taken since then.

Granted I don't believe in these poles all that much, but when word came down that McCain was packing up in Michigan to focus on the three remaining battle ground states, any doubts I had left.

The fact remains that turnout will be SUPER high, I'd say 60-65% if not more. The poor people BELIEVE, the Black People BELIEVE, the Brown folk BELIEVE, Asians BELIEVE, Young/Affluent/Educated Whites BELIEVE, its a DONE DEAL, trust me.

The Minority vote will knock any racist vote out there, leaving it up too the Youth, Liberals and Educated who wouldn't vote for McCain if their life depended on it.

I say Obama wins before Midnight Eastern time on Nov 4th.

Palin did a decent job in the VP debate but...

Clearly Biden did a better job.

And that's not just my opinion, Google it.

Multiple sources agree and the general concencus is that Biden did a better job in the debate.

Damn. You see what happens when you get a white woman and a black man together? They have themselves a son who ends up accomplishing feats like this.

IR love is a beautiful thing isn't it?;-)

My good man . . not so fast . . Palin had a good debate tonight. She will change minds and change things up. Expect a close and increasingly viscious election.

The race will come down to Ohio, Wisconsin and Colorado, keep an eye on the polls in those three.

Palin held her own on the debate IMO Biden was the seasoned vet and won. One other thing as another analyst mentioned her eye winking was a bit too much, car salesmen like....

I don't think Palin held her own at all unless her not completely imploding onstage is the definition of "held her own." I thought her voice was nervous and she offered no plans for the future, as opposed to Biden, who explained point by point what an Obama/Biden ticket hoped to accomplish. I also hated her folksy, small-town, "you betcha" talk. She sounded like Francis McDormand in "Fargo." I want an intellectual leader with global vision to lead my country, not some PTA woman from the middle of nowhere and some old guy who'd be older than Reagan was when he was elected. It's the presidency not the Popedom, where 72 years old is a kid. Palin's kinda typical in that she's good looking but when she talks it all falls apart. She's also emblematic of how low standards have fallen when (white) people buy all that folksy backwoods shit, yet a Harvard grad (Barack) is the "elitist" bad guy. Conan O'Brien went to Harvard too, does that make him elitist? Of course not, he's white.

Palin. Not ready to lead, not good for America. I'm Karma and I approve this message. :D

Last night was the first time I actually heard the real Palin speak and I thought she held her own against Biden. BUT, I didn't like the winking either, and I don't think she's ready to be VP.

If McCain/Palin gets elected and McCain dies, is she going to screw up this country and just say, "Oops! Well, I've only been at this for 5 weeks!" She did nothing to build up my confidence in her abilities to lead this country if the situation calls for it.

She tries to be all cute and fun and adorable, and you can't be that when you're a politician running for VP. You have to show what you're made of, not fall back on cute.

    I'm still all about Obama/Biden! :D

It's true that Palin was left standing after the debate....but, unfortunately for McCain, it won't be a game-changer.

Co-sign, bruh. Especially the part about how low the standards have fallen in this election...except for the Black man, who is labeled an "elitist" simply because he has a superior educational background. What bullshit.

Huh? Palin was horrible. She did nothing but rattle off talking points whether they corresponded to the question at hand or not. I can't believe how low people's standards are for those who aspire to our highest elected positions. The only reason that it wasn't another complete disaster for her in the mold of the network interviews she has done recently is that Gwen Ifill was intimidated into not asking any follow up questions or even asking Governor Palin to stay on topic by the wingnuts in the media and the political blogosphere who were screaming about how she was in the tank for Obama.

That vacuous dolt has NO business whatsoever running for VP. The whole thing is a disgusting farce.

Palin has a bright future as a Fox News commentator. VP? Not so much.

    McCain is doomed.

    From Newsweek:

But the truth is, without Michigan--which the campaign has now all but admitted that it will lose--it's very difficult to see how McCain can emerge victorious on Nov. 4. For months, McCain has made Michigan the centerpiece of his electoral offense, and with good reason. Iowa, a state that George W. Bush won in 2004, is almost certain to swing to Obama; he currently leads there by more than 10 points on average. Same goes for New Mexico, where Obama's ahead by eight. When combined with John Kerry's 251 electoral votes, those two states alone would put Obama within seven of the magic 270 mark; a single, additional win in either Colorado, Virginia, Ohio or Florida--all of which currently favor the Democrat--would put him over the top. Which is why McCain, desperate to make up ground, has long pinned his hopes on Michigan. The Arizona senator was polling within two points of his Illinois opponent as recently as Sept. 10.

Vacuous dolt? You don't hear that much! Not sure she's a vacuous dolt, but she's too folksy for being a heartbeat away from leader of the free world.

Au contraire, IMHO it's a quite a fitting description. This woman might actually surpass George W. Bush in the unfounded and unearned confidence department. She has apparently never paid the slightest bit of attention to foreign policy, or domestic policy outside of Alaska for that matter, or even versed herself in the rudiments of our system of government (e.g. her ridiculous answer last night about the power the she purported the Vice President to have in the legislative branch and her mind boggling claim that she would desire more expansive powers for the position that even Cheney has claimed under the bogus "unitary executive" theory).

The only thing that she has brought to McCain's ticket are her mean-spirited jibes, condescension, sarcasm (which my father always taught me is the lowest form of wit), nauseating folksiness and a superabundance of lies and misrepresentations about her record as the a mayor and a governor, the latest from the debate being: 1. Her claim that she put partisan politics aside when making political appointments (in actuality, she only appointed political supporters including friends of hers from grade school, some of whom were grossly unqualified, to major positions in state government and punished those who opposed her agenda). 2 Her claim that she was the first governor in the nation to create a climate change subcabinet when in she was actually following suit behind her peers in 28 other states. and 3. Her claim that she led a push for the divestiture of state investments in Sudanese business interests in response to the genocide in Darfur when in fact her subordinates fought tooth and nail against divestment of said investments.

Like I wrote before, her selection was a complete and utter and farce. God help us all if McCain is elected next month. In that case, this ignoramus would be a few heartbeats of a 72 year old, four time cancer survivor away from the Presidency.
