The ugly divorce battle that painted Yankee slugger Alex Rodriguez as a serial adulterer and "brainwashed" beau of pop icon Madonna is over.
Rodriguez and his wife, Cynthia, announced Thursday night they have peacefully settled their multimillion-dollar divorce case.

"Cynthia and Alex Rodriguez have amicably resolved their dissolution of marriage proceedings," read a terse statement released by the superstar ball player's lawyer, Alan Kluger.
Kluger refused to go into details of the settlement that ends the couple's five-year marriage.

"They deliberately engaged in a private negotiation," Kluger said. "This was and remains a personal family matter for both of them."
In her divorce petition, Cynthia Rodriguez, 35, demanded the couple's $12 million waterfront estate in Coral Gables, Fla., and "equitable distribution" of all assets acquired during the marriage.
She also asked for alimony and child support from A-Rod, who made $28 million this season. She asked for life and health insurance and enough to pay for private schools so she and their two daughters can maintain the "high standard of living" they're used to.
Alex Rodriguez countered that he was only willing to give her what was required in their prenup and threatened to make her pay his legal fees if she challenged the agreement and lost. Kluger said A-Rod and Cynthia Rodriguez had the best interest of their children, Natasha, 3, and Ella, 5 months, at heart throughout their negotiations.
"All of their decisions were based upon and guided by the best interests of their daughters," Kluger said.
Cynthia Rodriguez filed for divorce in July, blaming his "long period of infidelity" for busting up their marriage and accusing him of "emotionally abandoning" her and their children.
While she declined to name names, she privately told friends that one of A-Rod's bevy of mistresses was Madonna.
She told pals that she believed the singer, who is married to movie-director Guy Ritchie, used the Jewish mysticism Kabbalah to seduce and "brainwash" her husband.
The Material Girl, who turned 50 in August, vehemently denied any hanky-panky with the Bronx Bombers' 33-year-old third baseman, claiming they were "just friends."
At the height of the nasty mud slinging, Cynthia Rodriguez fled to Paris to stay at rocker Lenny Kravitz's pad.
Kravitz was forced to issue a statement denying rumors that he and Cynthia Rodriguez were having an affair.
In response to Cynthia's divorce petition, A-Rod conceded their marriage was "irretrievably broken," but demanded that allegations of his "extramarital affairs" be stricken from all court records.

There is a price for freedom and he can afford to pay it. He was getting down-right sloppy. The picture of him with the chick in Toronto last year when the Yankees were there for a road trip pushed this aover the top.
