Well if you're a Republican the latter, after all, according to them, America's just peachy, the fundamentals of the economy are sound, the surge is working. And who needs all those arrogant, condescending, elitist celebrities who are all smart and have degrees and stuff? They want a president they can have a beer with, or go out hunting moose from a helicopter.

You're absolutely right. We're winning the war on terror, there is no mortgage crisis, the stock market is doing fine, the economy is in great shape and there is no signs of a recession.
