Fess up, ladies. Were you a fan of the New Kids back in the 80s? Maybe I'm showing my age? Anyway, I was a huge fan. So they got back together and the album is out and I felt really bad for them. Who is going to buy their album, really? I downloaded it and it's actually good. Really sexy with just enough sweet. Not as cheesy as I expected at all. The single "Summertime" isn't the best showcase of what's on the album.
They're selling out arena shows all over the planet. If a percentage of the people buying tickets bought/legally downloaded the album, it could go at least gold (500,000). I'll give 'em props for actually making a new album, not just a best of.
I was a pretty big fan of them when I was younger. I haven't listened to much of their new stuff, but I bought tickets to one of their shows. I'm going with a bunch of girlfriends... should be fun.
