Respect is due. Despite the occasional missteps and bumps in the road, his commitment to his people and suffering people everywhere was unquestioned. Rest In Peace, Reverend.

I also loved his characters in 'Assassination Tango' and 'A Family Thing' with James Earl Jones.. R.I.P.

One of the greatest. I was honored to have met him once when he was running for Congress. His office was right across from Fordham University next to the White Castle. He even autographed a flyer for my buddy Manolo's mom. I was disappointed by the later turn to the right that his politics took, but I always respected his earlier activism and cultural contributions. The baddest man with a trombone! Rest In Peace & Que Descanse En Paz.

I think if you survive your 50's from dying from a condition, then you get a decade of reprieve and don't have to worry again until your 70's. May l live that long to see it, lol.
