Good grief! A stroke? At 54? I know that a stroke can happen to anyone at anytime, but I wonder how many of these guys aren't taking care of their health in general? I know I have no idea what I'm talking about, but I thought that these major figures in the industry had the money to take care of their health. In the old days, great black musicians died old and penniless thanks to unscrupulous managers and company heads who had their publishing rights. Now it seems as if many of the young greats are dying from chronic conditions like diabetes, blood pressure, congestive heart failure, lupus, sickle cell anemia and the like (when not being killed even more prematurely due to homicide).
I was on Prime Video looking at his filmography. There were some nuggets on there from pre-Dune that I was totally unaware of.
