Has anyone ever had a crush on someone, but that person was dating someone else & it crushed you? How did you get over it?

I've had a crush on someone, but was rarely crushed by them dating someone else. I just sort of got over it over time. It isn't always easy, but time does work.

Word? Is this a recent move or have you been there for sometime, like for a few years? I've been thinking you were down (from my vantage point in Washington) in Cali.

Best of luck with relocating. I hope you don’t have friends in harm’s way in California.

I was hurt for years that DMX had a wife lol.

If this is relatable to your own experience I do hope you're ok.

One way of looking at it is, there's literally billions of women all over the globe, the world is your oyster lol.

That's me whenever I have to work away from Florida. I can't wait to get back and I think about it all the time when I'm away.

The Trump Administration 2.0 has claimed its first victim - my girlfriend - today 23 January 2025. We just had "the talk". She's so terrified of what she thinks is coming from the second Trump administration that she's planning to leave for Portugal with her girlfriend. Too much doom-scrolling, endless social media consumption and panic-inducing websites have driven her over the edge. I think she needs therapy and xanax, but I wished her the best and told her to let me know how I can be helpful.

I find it strange that she, as a white, nearly 43 yr old, university-educated, middle-income, professional woman who is not seeking to exercise reproductive choice rights is somehow more terrified than me, or any other African-American, Latin, Asian, Muslim, immigrant or LGBT community member that she knows. Oh well. Hope she finds some peace.

Wow, Orejon, I'm very sorry to hear you're going through it right now. I can't help but feel that many more Americans are going to disburse to other countries for what they deem a more quality life. I think every country definitely has their own suite of problems, corrupt, useless governments. It's sad when you have to miss how life used to be. Sorry you had to find out last about your girlfriend's plan. Hopefully it's not over for you and she can convince you to leave for a better life.

It's fine. I'm not sad at all. I'm more troubled by what I think is an extreme overreaction. I wasn't the last to know or anything. She just wanted to talk to me about it. To be honest, I've been burned out about having to spend 30-45 minutes every other day talking her off a ledge and explaining to her what is realistically possible in the short, medium and long terms. I've worked in local/state/federal legislative affairs for 31 years, so I don't have the same blind terror about him that seems to be gripping so many people. I think he's certainly going to do some horrific things, but I don't think he's going to institute an anti-black Holocaust or bring back slavery or even be able to deport everyone he is claiming, because the US lacks the institutional capacity to execute such an operation in such a short time window, and also because his true masters (and the masters of both parties) are Capital, and they want cheap labor, no matter what their pandering to white workers and small business interests would have people think. Trump will not be able to turn the US into The Handmaid's Tale overnight.

Besides, if you're truly opposed to Trump's policies (as I am), the correct response is to organize and oppose them, not flee in unreasoning terror. If it gets to the point where they are in fact, institutionalizing global fascism, running won't help anyway. Better to stand and fight. Besides, with Le Pen in France, Orban in Hungary, Meloni in Italy and other countries like Austria, Poland and Germany all struggling with the resurgence of the right wing, the EU's no picnic.

As usual these days, I'm late to the party. lol Thanks for the heads up nonetheless. Unfortunately, I would've missed either way since I'm already at work when it comes on.

Yes indeed. :D And since FG has been gone, I haven't had to fight over him with anyone. lol At one point, we did agree to share him—I don't think that would've lasted though. :p
