Anybody watching the sec championship game?

I start at UGA in the fall of next yr and love the team so much. this game is killing me rn but goooo dawgs! ❤️❤️

 

Congratulations . UGA was my dream school in my senior year of high school. I was so happy when I got that acceptance letter from Athens, GA. How I wish I had the money to matriculate there lol

 

School is SO EXPENSIVE I was lucky to get scholarships my bf and best friend also got in but are still trying to figure out the financial side of things. UGA is my dream school my parents and one set of grandparents went there and even my 3x great grandpa went there but we don't live in GA so I was afraid I wouldn't be able to go. SO EXCITED NOW!

 

I was out of state too so sadly I couldn't get financial aid there. I could afford Savannah State so that's where I went at 17.

 

Did you like Savannah State?! I want to be in GA so bad I would have considered that one if I didn't get in to UGA (but I don't think they would have considered me for obvious reasons lol)

 

I'm sure you would be accepted there as HBCU's have been accepting non-black students for generations. There will not be an abundance of WW there but some locals from Savannah, GA will be there for the tuition discount and the fact that it is part of the University system of Georgia. The faculty will be diverse and if you are genuinely integrated into Black culture and Black college life then you'll be fine . If you can afford UGA though . . . that's where I would go.

 

Oh yeah I will DEFINITELY be at UGA but that is interesting I wasn't sure if I could get into HBCUs so I didn't apply to any

 

Congratulations! I remember the Tech/Georgia games in the mid 1980's. Athens and the campus has changed a lot since my visits there.

 

I remember a TV movie of a White player from Gramling and Marisa Tomei in the first season of A Different World.

 

I saw that movie as it featured Bruce Jenner at Grambling State as a new recruit QB. "White Tiger" Is the title I believe.
