tbh it's not even a competition. We all knew KDot was going to win this, but a stronger showing by Drake would have made things more interesting (he's getting stomped here :p)

Drake can't give a stronger showing because there's no substance to anything he raps about. If he would have just openly admitted he is & always has been a pop artist and not a hip hop artist, he wouldn't be getting bodied the way he is.

very good point. I think you're exactly right that he is a poser, which probably caused all of this to happen tbh

Drake officially cut his own throat when he put out that "Taylor Made Freestyle" track IMO. Because he showed just how little respect he has for hip hop as a whole by using AI to alter his voice to sound like both 2Pac & Snoop. No regard for 2Pac's legacy & estate by not even thinking it would be okay to do that shit (clearly it wasn't okay because the estate sent him a cease and desist order) and no respect for Snoop by not even asking him to actually come do a verse himself (because if he did ask, clearly he got turned down and then turned around and did the AI shit anyway).

Not just the lack of respect for Legends..the lack of respect for all Artists as the fear is AI will put them all out of business from Painters to Musicians to Actors Eventually.

The community was all primed to hate Drake. And Drake made a lot of enemies. It doesn't help Drake hasn't produced a good album in like a decade.

Drake and Taylor are the same lmao. They don't sing about anything real. She just talks about her Dating Life and Drake is still in the club.
    At least Taylor has Folklore.

I was there during 1995-97. That was real heat compared to this watered-down sawed-off piece of shit we're actually referring to as "beef".

No disrespect to his music career but Drake will always be remembered from Degrassi whether he likes it or not.

It's not just Drake that's an issue when it comes to rap/hip hop. A lot of the current crop of rappers want to be seen as pop artists rather than rap/hip hop artists. That's why a lot of them have no respect for or knowledge about the hip hop icons that come before them or the genre itself.

I think part of that is just how hard it is to make any real money in music these days.

Country is a bit different cause they have a unique circuit.
But the rest of music with 360 deals, Live Nation owning the Ticket Sales & Venues, and the paltry money from streams.
You gotta get big as possible to sign marketing deals for products to make any real money.

If they are in it to make money and not because they have love of the craft or genre, then that's on them. Artists that are in it for the love of their craft aren't really doing it for the money. Not saying that they don't want to make any money but that's not their main motivation.

And considering how many artists that are in it strictly for the money also seem to be the ones with mediocre to sub par talent and skills, that doesn't move me as a consumer of music not matter what the genre.

What do Drake Stans and MAGA Heads have in common? Neither can accept the fact that their man lost.

He has been in trouble...he should have that Winters Bone Ai artist lmao.

He needs new ghostwriters...his content has mostly been not great for awhile

Ghostwriters aren't going to help him unless he finally decides to fully stay in the pop singer lane. His diehard stan base such as it is will ride with him no matter what. The general listening public is not fucking with him now & his own ego plus his industry masters eager to keep him as their cash cow darling isn't helping him. He needs to go away for awhile, rebrand & then comeback fresh.

You can always come back as long as the content is good. Drake just has been phoning it in for years.

That's why I said he needs to go away for awhile. If he actually has some genuine songwriting skills & an ear for picking beats to match his songs, then he should have no problem coming back after taking time off to hone those particular skills to get back on the charts. The way he's moving now, he's telling on himself.
