Young people are the backbone of the progressive wing of the democratic party, but the movement is not growing fast enough to upend the stranglehold that the corporate Dems have on the party yet. The toppling of the Democratic establishment may be on its way, but If Bernie couldn't get it done in 2016 or 2020 I can't foresee anyone else coming down the pipeline that can get it done within the next two election cycles.

I phrase it a bit differently. The Dems have to fight on ID Politics or Culture Wars cause they dont want anything to fundamentally change. So if all your changes are minor or incremental then you can only change stuff on the ID front with regards to the Average Joe.

I disagree and here's why. AOC can do it. I'm not even a super big fan but I see where she had strength. She galvanizes the fuck out of young people AND traditional identity politics playing Dems. She is essentially bullet proof as far as criticism because any attack will come back to looking either anti woman or anti Latina. The right might hit her with their usual socialist and racist nonsense but they won't get away with calling her supporters bros. They won't be able to dismiss her as an old white man. She's gonna be even more popular than Obama because she didn't go to fancy schools and before going to Washington she was a bartender. She has the working class appeal and she's attractive. Mark my words on this one. Like I was right about Bitcoin I am even more right about this. Alexandria Occosio Cortez will be THE most beloved and popular president in American history

I get where you are coming from but AOC would have to go up against Kamala in 2024 or 2028 before she has to deal with the right. And Kamala's gender and racial background would nullify any advantage AOCs race and gender give her. AOC also has as many enemies in Washington as friends, and the friends she does have are all members of the house except for one (Bernie) and she would need a lot of friends if she was going to challenge a sitting vice-president for the democratic nomination. Especially when you consider that a house representative hasn't run and won a presidential election in over 100 years. Even if by some miracle she got the nomination her association with Social Democrats would obviously galvanize the right to go after her but it would also turn the corporate media against her. (CNN, MSNBC, and The New York Times) she'd be fighting a war on all fronts.

Yeah I think you're forgetting AOC has the Latinx vote on lock and they are much bigger than the available black vote and she's a genuine populist. Kamala Harris is phony as fuck and everyone can see it which is why she did worst with black voters than nearly everyone in the primaries. Gen Z ADORES AOC. They will definitely show up for her especially if she keeps banging the Medicare for all and canceling student debt drum. If the Biden administration doesn't tackle Healthcare and student debt Kamala is toast. And corporate media has a strong pull on older voters. That medium is dying and they know it. Three years from now more people will get their news from Facebook Instagram and YouTube than all the legacy outlets combined.

I don't agree with your conclusions but I get your position, I guess we will have to wait and see.

One last thing though, I don't think she has Latino people on lock, because I have Latino people in my extended family so I know how deep the conservative streak runs in a lot of their communities, a lot of them wouldn't vote for AOC if she was their first cousin. Remember for every AOC you have a Marco Rubio.

True but Bernie Sanders showed us that in Nevada if you appeal to populist positions you will definitely get the Latino vote. The handful of Cubans who fall for the socialist rhetoric can't drown out millions who are worried about Healthcare and jobs

This dude just doesn't like Harris. I agree she would have a hard time winning a general election. Any woman in today's political climate would struggle to be elected POTUS.
But she's not a fuck up as VP or someone totally out of her depth. This cat is talking about her like she's Sarah Palin.
What's the point of the VP visiting the border?? Since when does the media ever spend this much time covering the VP or care how her office is being run??

Enjeti says it was a terrible mistake for Biden to select Harris as his VP, yet he still won by 7+ million votes. It's bit concerning how much time and effort political media spend trashing top female politicians.

Biden won by 7 million+ because he wasn't Trump, not because of his VP choice.

Enjeti is trashing Kamala because of the obviousness of her being set up to take over. The black matriarchy will be complete. Either Biden falls down a flight of stairs or they will run her in 2024. The Right is going on the offense now. It is a litmus test on how she takes the hits, because they will get worse.

My personal belief is Kamala is un-serious, out of her depth, and the ultimate diversity hire. There was nothing about her electorally to justify her being on the ticket, other than BW voters whining about "representation." At least Beto would have brought in TX votes like LBJ back in 1960, but feminists would have cried about two straight white guys being on the ticket.

Pearls and Chucks. Oh look she's wearing Timbs how cool. Always dancing and prancing. Nothing about policy. They justify it as her being a "happy warrior." I think it's un-serious. Not to mention the whole sleeping her way to the top as Willie Brown's side piece. And she's so down and so Black, AKA skee-wee, HBCU, yet managed to marry a white guy OK.

Her record as Attorney General is immaterial to me as most of these negro savages deserve to be locked up anyway lol.

To me, HRC was serious. The American Angela Merkel. Had world leaders on speed dial. Qualified. Tested. Kamala is the real-life Olivia Pope.

I did not vote for the Biden/Harris ticket, the first election I sat out by choice ever.

I'm not worried about Kamala because even though she's VP, I don't think she could win a Dem primary in 2024.
But I doubt any woman right now could win the presidency either.

You are a true political head if you remember Quayle. Big respect.
