Thanks for that map. I wondered what counties Ms.Abrams got in Georgia? Also are the counties that nominated him are the light red ones?

    LMAO

Romney is out for himself. He didn't have to take Trump's endorsement in 2012. Most mainstream Republican politicians didn't want anything to do with Trump at that point.

Also, Romney only spoke up against Trump during the Republican primary. He fell in line and kept his mouth shut during the general election.

...and he kissed Trump's ass after the election because he wanted a cabinet position. That was opportunism, he wasn't operating for the common good.

Additionally, it's politically expedient for him to oppose Trump in his current position as a senator from Utah because most Mormons despise Trump.

Romney is a spineless opportunist piece of shit.

I'd take him over Bernie but I'll vote for your white jesus if he wins the primary.

The dems will lose the house and he won't get anything done anyway. We can keep going back and forth like that for the next 50 years as long as it keeps the Dems from force feeding policy to the state that I actually live in.

Why will dems lose the house again?

Because this isn't Canada or New York.

    Shocking, I know.

Holy shit I agree with Brother Freddy

Every 4-6 years they try to paint him as "principled," or a "maverick" that goes against his own party (a la McCain), but he's really just an opportunist

Ok if you say so. Two things are coming that we can't deny or stop. A market crash and mass suffering to go with it. This ain't 10 years ago when cable news could lie to you and the masses could ignore certain aspects of the cause of their suffering. It's squarely going to fall on the shoulders of those who created a tax cut for the rich while cutting funding to social programs that people will desperately need. Your kid can't get school lunch and you're out of work whose fault is that who cut SNAP?
Sick and can't afford insurance because you don't have a job? How you gonna get medical care without going further into debt? Better vote for democratic socialist since everyone else wants to ignore the situation since they're rich enough not to have to worry about it.
Keep ignoring reality either because youre ok and don't care about others or you're so married to old school politics that a populist can't sway you. Either way buckle up Dorothy its gonna be a bumpy ride.

Stop talking to me like I'm a right winger. I'm not new to this board. If all you want to do is debate right wingers you have blister for that.

Problem solvers don't remove working solutions just to replace them with other possible solutions. Keynesian economics worked until people stopped using it. Now you want to jump to UBI and the Green deal for practically no reason other than you being an idealist.

You call me libertarian and blow other non-applicable hot air as if you don't even know what economic policy is. We mostly agreed with politics until YOU started supporting these new ideas.

New ideas from you and far lefties have no bearing on who I have always been. The burden of proof is on you and your candidates.

My dude I didn't call you anything my point has been and remains to be this following behind centrist won't get shit done. All it does is support the status quo at the expense of the working class and poor. Capitalism as it stands right now is destroying the planet while demanding the suffering of billion to support the bottomless greed of a few.
We need a radical president if not only to drag the conversation far left so we might actually get some center left things done. I don't even Bernie Sanders let alone his supporters believe we'll get everything he suggests but we will get some of it. And it won't happen by starting in the middle so all our proposals end up being right wing compromises

The Status Quo is back and forth from blue to red non stop. One play reverses the other. That's the real problem. That's why nothing can get done. Your solution is to go further to the left? LOL.

Capitalism isn't destroying anything. The government has failed. If the quarterback doesn't have a play you don't blame the team, you blame him. The right wingers have no economic policy, and when the economy goes off the rails you blame capitalism. That makes no sense at all. They are the ones to blame for not having a policy to begin with. Anyone that knows anything about economics understands that. Even if we adopt your model the government would need to have some sort of policy to give it a fighting chance to work.

The right wingers have zero economic policy, how the hell is capitalism to blame for that?

Because the very nature requires a never ending profit motive that requires never ending growth. The earth is finite and because we live under a scarcity model it encourages dishonest actors to hoard and control the means of production. Also take into consideration the way the non owners or capital prove their value is by trading their labor. As automation and AI continue to take root what happens when you no longer can trade your labor what value do you have? A democratic social model where the means of production work for the many and not just the few is more efficient and far less violent my friend.

No model can work without government intervention. It's not a machine. In fact the more I think about it the more apparent it is that capitalism is remarkable.
It's absolutely amazing that the economy hasn't completely collapsed and left the entire country in a third world condition like the USSR.

The economy is working right now with no active policy whatsoever. To the informed mind that's quite remarkable.

Your qualm isn't with Capitalism, it's with human nature, if you only knew.

Other models require more maintenance than Capitalism, that means more government intervention. How is that bright when it's the government that failed in the first place??

    It's not rocket science yanno.

The economy isn't working don't fall for the outdated GDP unemployment rate model. It lacks context just because the unemployment rate is low doesn't mean the jobs people have are quality jobs that offer healthcare and a living job. Just because a person has the "freedom" to work 70 hours a week doesn't mean things are manageable for that person especially when rents are so high its necessary for them to trade more than half their waking life to work in order to meet basic survival needs.
The market is hyper inflated due to incredibly misleading reports that ignore stock buy backs.
It all seems to "work" when the status quo of wealth extraction from the masses isn't being disrupted.

Fix your government. It's ridiculous to not even see the problem. I've posted information that shows that our government is dysfunctional compared to other first World countries.

If you want our country to be more like other first World countries note that their government don't have the same dysfunctional culture.

Note that Europeans are known to use Keynesian economics and gtfo.

When someone who graduated from business school can't even identify the problem excuse me for not having ideal expectations.

    The parameters are:

"encompassing civil liberties, the electoral process and pluralism, government functionality, political participation and political culture."

I have been thinking about this for minute now . . . let Sanders have this cycle. He is old and won't run again plus I believe the DNC chested him last time in 2016. If he loses (and he likely would as would everyone else against the incumbent and accomplished Trump) then it's the moderate Dems turn in 2024. If by chance Sanders wins then we will get an executive order for slavery reparations :)

It would be like the first couple episodes of HBO's "Watchmen" lol.

Seriously though I'm curious what Democratic Socialism would manifest here. I'm thinking Sweden not Venezuela.
