You're not alone on that. But I'm aware of what filmmakers including marvel filmmakers are doing with making the movie version of fictional stories and characters slightly different than in the books. The MCU and even DCEU are kind of based in a alternate universe in the movie versions. For me as long as the story is good and no significant changes are made then I can buy it.

It just looks generic. Like a Snake Eyes clone or a throw away Lord Zedd design. But, I'm like you, if the story is good, I'll rock with it.

Made the lone black male hero bi-sexual

And then this past Sunday's episode
Made the perfect black husband and father a creation of a white man.

But, the writing is so good I can let that last one slide.

Bungie reveals 'Season of the Dawn' for Destiny 2.

The new season comes with an original artifact for you to upgrade, a new six-player combat mode, new armor and weapons, and of course, a new chunk of story to play through.

I'm tapping out I can do without it. I am so fucking fed up with that narrative. Anyone else notice they purely only do that to black male heroes. Smh

Of course it is. It's about a black gangster. We can be that.

I'm not even watching that. Pass for me.

What makes it worse is that a black man co-wrote the episode.

    My take:
They could have written that from an angle of it just being propaganda in those videos they watch. Something along the lines of a smear incase it ever got out that he was actually a black man. Kind of like how "they" tried to say Obama was gay and Michelle is trans. Or how they make sure to include information on MLK having affairs with white women. Lindloff and the brotha' that co-wrote the episode really missed a chance to show how media is used to tear down black heroes.

But, hey, a black male superhero must always be what society deems as "lesser". That is the rule. So, why are we surprised?

Would've been one of the best episodes of TV I've seen in while until they dropped that "squid bomb" from out of nowhere.

It's a true story so it's beyond all of that non-sense, unless they pull some fuckery like they did with Harriet.
