That's wasn't what I was alluding to, but I understand that. And that have to do with how they feel about straight black men when it comes to ''their'' women, and how docile a lot of gay black men tend to be. TRUST if the gay black community weren't submissive to this system of white supremacy, had issues with black men dating white women, ect. they would not like those brothas very much either. Just look beyond these gay black male characters' sexuality and observe their personality, relationships with the white characters and how the only important thing they make about them ARE their sexuality.

I think the biggest issue with the representation of gay black men is that they always fit the “subservient black male” trope. It’s a continuation of the “yes boss, sure boss” narrative. The difference is that a lot of feminist driven shows (I say feminist driven as female driven tends to be different and actually have solid storytelling), are using gay black men as their “subservient black male” trope. I’ve seen it among both black feminist shows and white feminist shows. It’s really offensive, and I wish that community wasn’t so eager for acceptance/work. They end up selling themselves, and it’s sad.

I’m not a homophobe, so I have no issue with black lgbtq representation. But, when the representation only features black male lgbtq members because straight black men won’t play the subservient roles, I get beyond disgusted. Which, I believe, is the issue a majority of you have with this current state of lgbtq representation.

Yeah I get that but for years the black male best friend was straight ie Veronica Mars Alex Mack One Tree Hill etc all non threatening dudes who supported their usually female superior instead of being secretly in love and later hooking up which is what they do when both people are white. Again something smells rotten in Denmark my friend

It serves to kill several birds with one stone without ruffling the almighty white advertising dollar. With a black gay male main character, they don't have to worry about pairing him up with any of the white female leads.

This is why I stans so hard for Jordan Peele. He's doing for us what black female directors or show runners in the mainstream didn't even try to.

I worry about Peele though. From his exposure of Racism In Liberal America with the Movie Get Out, To the mirror he put up on society In Us, to his controversial remarks about not making white guys the lead in his movies and his wife being A Feminist he right now is thinking outside the box while still on the inside. I guarantee you they're watching him like a hawk and are none to pleased with some of his actions.

American Gods came on before GoT and I'm glad I watched it later after GoT because that was the best episode of the season until we see what happens in the season finale next week.

The season finale of American Gods looks like it is going to be crazy, I have really enjoyed this season much more than the first one to be honest. Orlando Jones as Mr Nancy has just killed the entire season.

With Avengers, American Gods, and of course the battle of winterfell all next weekend I think something like this is going to happen to every nerd brain.

I got an Saturday showing for Avengers: Endgame hopefully the afternoon on a Saturday isn't too packed.

I'm trying my hardest to be able to watch American Gods and GoT back-to-back. I might wind up watching Game Of Thrones a little later if The season finale of American Gods runs a little longer or is as intense as episode 7 was.

Yo, everytime I look through my YouTube recommendations it's always filled with new Brie Larson videos. These white nerds have it out for her:

From the few videos I watched, it looks like the rest of the Avengers cast don't fucc with Brie based on the body language & snippy comments in these cast press interviews.

Those racist/sexist white nerds make it difficult for legitimate criticism. They had the same endless stream of hate videos for The Last Jedi (in their defense, however, it was an awful movie)

Those guys that spend so much time making these videos feel so entitled as white men, that any perceived disrespect throws them into a frenzy, and they don't have the psychological tools to process in their feelings in a healthy way.
