A lot to unpack and decipher in this video, even though im old and this is not really my cup of tea, I found the video thought provoking for sure...
I really adore him. The beauty and power in a video like this (imo) is 100% in the ambiguity of it. It makes people think. I'd imagine 10 people veiwing this would likely come away with 10 different points of symbolism, personal to them/their views/their experiences. That's something incredibly special and very unique, in music nowadays. As a totally cheesy aside, can I just say how much I love his normal physique?! It's so unbelievably refreshing to see. So petty to take it there, but I did lol.
Dude has been getting hate & jealously on social media/forums because how much attention he's getting for this music video. @Tamstrong Can you move this thread to the In the Media subforum? And can you add "Donald Glover" or "Childish Gambino" to the thread title?
I thought this was a pretty well-done video. I also like that it inspired other "This is" videos about other countries... I hope every country, state, city does one... The selection below is of varying quality, but still interesting... First one is "this is russia"...
