With the diversity of LA, it has a cultured history. Look past Hollywood and the celebrities. Looking at the Kosovo incident, inequality is clearly part of Serbian history. My brief research brings up the Nazi influence in serbia. Am I wrong?
Can the Serbs....greeks....and brits that stomped that BM to death do no wrong?????? You sure are working hard to make excuses for them.
Well if that's all it is....show us a white American guy that was stomped to death by Serbs. That should be easy if half the crap you posted is true.
This is gonna sound cold, but -- Dude was killed in a bar fight. Happens all the time. Someone punched him... He punched back. The rest is history. Same thing could've happened if the bar was all black, right here in America. Hope the guys who killed him are convicted. It would be a disgusting injustice if they aren't. ...But what would I tell my son? Don't fuckin' get into bar fights. Period. Especially if you're in a foreign country, out of your element, standing out like a sore thumb as the "other". If the guy Bakari punched had fallen down and died, Bakari would've been on trial in a foreign country. Point is -- punching back is a no-win situation in a bar in a foreign country, no matter how it turns out. There is no way this could've turned out positively. Dude should've been aware of his surroundings -- aware of the sensitivities of the locals -- aware that testosterone and alcohol are a volatile mix --and aware that fights often spin out of control. THIS INCIDENT IS NOT BAKARI'S FAULT -- but he should not have punched back. He should've reported the incident to security, and left when it was safe. I know I'm "monday morning quarterbacking" but dude should've understood this shit when he first decided to travel. Is this a racial incident? I'm sure race played a part. And I'm sure racists are delighted at the outcome, and happy that blacks will hesitate to visit that town and mix with "their" women. ...But I think the takeaway is, as a black man, you have to be realistic about the human animal, and use your head. It's also worth noting that a Brit (white) guy tourist was stabbed to death in that same town. The town is known for being raucous.
I guess the fact that I made another suggestion as to why a black American citizen might be assaulted in Europe does not go do well. So just lets go But people here don't want to see anything except that he was beaten to death because he was black. It maybe something else. For starters, who takes a selfie of a waitress in her workplace? This does not excuse the crime but the court will take all these factors into consideration when prosecuting.
Its the Balkans where there has been historic rivalry between the various ethnic groups. The ex Yugoslavia is a classic example.
Don't get it twisted -- the killers were in the wrong. Taking a selfie of a waitress doesn't justify an assault or death sentence, so I would hope the court doesn't take that selfie into consideration. And it would indeed be a racial thing if the court decides to let these guys off. We see what they did on camera. We know the court wouldn't let them off under other circumstances, like if the victim was Greek. But my point is: bar fights happen... the better bet is to just steer clear of them especially if you're in a foreign country. There are vids all over the internet of white people getting their heads kicked in for "disrespecting" Thai guys in thailand, for example. Here's one of a white family being beaten in Thailand, including an old lady getting kicked in the head. Travelers should just know better.
This is such a shameful infuritating senseless murder. I've seem the CCTV footage and while @medullaslashin makes sense in theory, he had been drinking and reacted with instinct. No one stops to observe their surroundings after being slapped in the head. You develop tunnel vision and defend yourself. Or retaliate. This is such a filthy stain on the country and l hope tourists bypass that shithole of a bar island. It's always had a shady reputation ... R.I.P to the poor young man, and those murderers will go to jail. Believe that!
Waitresses take pictures while working at a bar all the time. It's just as normal as her bullshitting with a customer for a minute. It's a social environment. This isn't Burger King. Try again.
No way would I have punched back -- drunk or not. In fact, I probably wouldn't have been drinking (at least not to any point that it impairs my faculties) in a bar in a foreign land. (Probably wouldn't have been in the bar in the first place -- but that's just me... I don't travel to go to bars. Plenty of that right here at home, and they're pretty much all the same...) If the guy had been furiously pummeling me, I would've defended myself to the point were I could retreat or rally others to stop the assault. But punch for punch? Nope. ...Because I'd be aware that I'm not at home... and would want to get back there in one piece without having to deal with some foreign legal system. If you're going to be a traveler, you gotta know how you're gonna handle shit beforehand. Without "instinct"... without emotion.
Because both are ASSHOLES. The Greek was crying, " I just went to help my friend,(the Serb), l wasn't trying kill him"..Too bad. You should have tried to break it up as the club's bartender, not cash in. I'm so disgusted.THIS SHIT is every tourist's and every mother's NIGHTMARE when you entrust your child into the hands of another country. That Greek should have fucking FOUGHT OFF every fucker who came near the American. I just can't...
Doesn't matter! In fact, the potential for weapons coming into play is just another reason to avoid the violence.
Lol at he shouldn't have hit back. When has not fighting back deterred an attacker?? I wouldn't be afraid to get locked up in a NATO country. Its not like we even get fair trials in the US. Why would you even go to a country where you wouldn't even feel comfortable defending yourself??
